News From Gph (sigh)

I get the feeling there is a lot still to finish, probably mostly software...
Is the devkit ready yet?
Have they sent cd's off for duplication?
Is the firmware now final?
What about the packaging?

Has Duke Nukem Forever been ported yet?

Well at least it gives the developers more time to finish their projects. By the time we get them Duke 3d will be fully functioning with sound I bet. :)
Who said it wasn't ;). Got sound working last night, but for some reason duke doesn't want to speak. At least the sounds don't need converting like they do for the gp32 version.

Probably need to overclock the gp2x to get Duke Nukem Whenever to run! ;)

Thats a thought! If I use a 9v battery to power the GP2x will it run 3x as fast?

I don't think that running the GP2X off of a 9v will work without some minor modification (not sure exactly what) but I have a feeling that it just wouldn't be that great for the hardware. Although having more power avaliable may let the processors be overclocked just a little more. I'm really not sure but the short answer is that a 9v won't make the GP2X 3 times faster.

To stay on topic. I've been reading these boards for a while now as I wait for my fun little system and I was pretty sure that I would be seeing it the 3rd ish week in November. I really just want to have it during Thanksgiving break. Yes I realize that the rest of the world doesn't have this holiday or if they do it's not the same as the USA's.

And I have a feeling he was just joking :D

Shame about the delay, but I was half expecting a few last minute hiccups. Good things come to those who wait and all that :)

Small corps are cool, they can have someone that can actully give you some info you know. Vrey unlike Large faceless corps...

So shipping will be around Nov 11th and many commercial games are being developed now.
how vague is that?

How many is many? Who are they being developed by? What sort of games are they?

It just sounds like some sort of cheap attempt to make up for the delay. They are probably just talking about the games announced by Int13.

I know delays were not exactly unpredictable, but I wish we had some sort of clarification by GBAX as to whether they are still expecting units earlier than this or earlier than GP32z or GP32de etc.

I agree with declaration,

I can understand the delays, but come on if they have lined up "Many Games" then a list would be nice.

Also if gbax is in the same boat as the rest of the world why haven't they updated their site to reflect the new dates?

i've started my own topic maybe some one who has my cash might read it and give me a hint as to when i can expect my gp2x ............................maybe not :(

I'd prefer them to delay the shipment to get the hardware/firmware absolutely right, than to ship out shoddy/buggy gear early.

I'm sure that they just don't want to announce games that will never be released. (like gamepark did it with the gp32 ;) )

I was joking!

If we put the batteries in the wrong way round will it all run backwards? It works for the wall clock in my office!

It would be really cool, give the games a new lease of life.

Mario could give the princess to Donkey Kong and then run away!

Oh people!

This is always the way it is.

Never ever anyone delivered at the promised date!
We are so impatient because we aren't the common consumers.
(at let the GPH know about it!)

I'm wanting my GP2x so much... and not only because I paid for it already. I'm just excited (call me silly) about it. It has so many uses from an emulation to video playing to even a commercial games!
