New Gp32 Coming Out...

Hey Blah, you wouldn't happen to have a link to the concept picture of the new system, would you? I tried searching for it, but I can't find it.

I really hope they make another system. Even if extra power won't give us a great deal of extra systems to emulate, that's not really a big deal anyway because a few things emulated right now aren't quite perfect anyway. With more power, they probably can be, depending on how much more power the system has. If I remember correctly, someone posted something about gamepark saying they wanted their new system to compete with the PSP. In order to do that, they'll need to get 3rd party support for games, and they need make sure more people know who they are and get the system sold in stores like wal mart and target.

PCs can't even emulate anything past SNES/GBA/Mega Drive/Neo Geo to a decent level so I don't expect to see that on a handheld.
So any liunks for the E3 announcment?

I hear Gamepark have done alright with the GP32, they have sold a reasonable amount and they do make a profit on their console. They may have made a loss with games but they've done fine otherwise.

I would like something more user friendly first and foremost. The GP32 is not good for this, something that irks me and will terrify any casual folks considering getting one.
Capacity for Neo Geo emulation would be very nice though...

All have perfect PC emulators, damn I used to play metal slug on my old 800mhz machine, it ran pretty much perfect, didn't take note of frame rate, but things didn't drop that much. I could play PSX and N64 on there perfect, and once I even gave gamecube emulation a go, but the controls were lacking, other then that fine, PS2 and xbox are pretty unrealistic as things to emulate seeing as really good computers struggle a bit with it.

It would be great if one existed JUST for bragging rights :p ! What I mean by that is, something that will convince my other friends to buy one(one of mine is considering, the others just think it's cool). Yea, and then there GBA, Neo Geo, PSX, etc.

Personally I love how the Gp32 scene is undergournd and the general public is not aware of this. Most people who see me playing think it's a GameBoy or a PSP with a white case and they get very interested when I tell them about this device. I think it's good that the GP32 is underground. Let's face it we love our Gp32 because they can play emulation the old school games we gew up with. Not because of the comertial games or fre games while they are cool, its the thrill of emulation. I would love to see Gamepark beat out the giants, like Sony, however I think the scene is great the way it is. if they come out wiht a new handheld like a GP64 that would be sweet but if not the GP32 is a great, the best handheld in the mean time... :D

I've always thought that. I would laugh/snicker inside my head when people called it a GBA or PSP. I like how its underground too. I just wish it was a bigger unferground. But I would certanly hate it if we got a bunch of mass-marketed to people, flaming or praising it ignorantly and blindly.

I own no "normal" hand helds at all. When I play on my Zod, everyone thinks it's a PSP. When playing on the GP, people ask me if I enjoy my "new version" of the GBA (hmm) .

Does anyone actually know the size of the Gamepark Holdings company employee-wise?

Looking at these pictures... It appears they might have a pretty small staff.

Obviously they're not under THAT much financial strain, since they had the European launch and release of the BLU just last year.  Who knows though..

In the first picture, is the guy on the right picking his nose or doing a very bad Dr Evil impersination .

:)

it's a girl ^^

the chick on the left looks like her finger is going through her GP32

I want that blue translucent one. To bad the GP32 didn't become more popular, then those other colors would be available.

Q: i am wondering what gamepark is doing? i mean...are they planning on building a superior handheld system like the psp to compete in the market out there? or are they pretty much out?

A: No idea what Gamepark is doing, they've been giving us the silent treatment recently.

Has there ever been a time when they haven't? I remember prospective developers being frustrated because GP wouldn't return emails... certainly, the only fan website they've ever talked to has been gp32news.com (they seem to favour them with interviews, for some reason). Emailing Gamepark is like sending your text into a black hole.

Gamepark did do a pretty good job reponding for a while in that ShoppingMall Q/A thing they set up on the English GP32 site, but they seem to have stopped replying now.

What??!? You're either using an old crappy computer, or you're using the wrong emulators then. I have a 1.3 ghz pentium 4 with 256mb of ram... my computer emulates N64 just fine. The Playstation was a bit buggy, but it was definitely at full speed and with sound.

I use an N64 emulator called 1964. it works perfectly

It doesn't matter to me either way whether or not GamePark gets a lot of recognition. I think they definitely deserve it, but of course the developers deserve it just as much, if not more... It would be cool if more people knew about it though because that way we'd have more people making stuff for it. I just hope they make a 2nd more powerful system that can use larger capacity memory devices, like maybe USB memory sticks or even USB hard drives... although that would limit the portability of the system, it would still be cool to have almost unilmited space. I think it's kind of funny how everybody thinks it's a gameboy when they see me playing with it. even those who i've told about 80 times what it is, they still say "what are you doing, playing your damn gameboy?" but at the same time, it kind of annoys me. It's like they look down on videogames and people who play them and call everything a "nintendo," unless it's handheld, in which case it's a "gameboy." I always tell them "no, damnit, this isn't a gameboy, it's a GP32... much better than a gameboy."
