Nds Emu?

So really, the screen is no more a problem than the NDS emu has, and like the NDS emu, once it's solved then the rest will be easy. We just need a nicely optimised dynarec.
Don't kid yourself...
I'm pretty sure we'll need at least 3 optimised dynarecs.

plus, who actually has the patience to write a software that will make our pandora LCD project 3D images?

I think that if we get past this, as with the NDS emu, then a 3DS emulator will likely be simplicity itself. After all, the only really hard part will be the screen, yes?

Well, the 3DS has a slider on the right hand side which controls 3D depth - we could just force that to output no depth at all while emulating. Problem solved! There's also the possibility that we could scale both images down and set them side by side on the Pandora screen - then just cross your eyes (or go parallel if that's your bag) to get the 3D effect. The real problem though will be fitting all three screen images on the Pandora screen at once, but that's simple if you use TV Out. Those lucky few that have a 3D-capable TV could have the top 3D screen on there, too.

D.

No need to scale them down. They are 400x240 resolution, which means they will fit perfectly side by side. We can show the touchscreen on the TV-out and use a wacom tablet to pull off the touch interface. ;)

This all seems like more trouble than it's worth. Wouldn't it be best to just run win95 in dosbox, then just use a windows ds emulator? Everyone knows windows has the fastest emulators, so it should be the best. Not only that but if you want multiplayer simply run two or more dosbox windows, problem solved.

There is no limit to what dosbox is capable of. Crysis, here I come.

i dont think crysis is touch screen capable, so whats the point of emulating it on a win 95 dosbox nds emulator?

Crysis 2 is 3D though, so it would kind of make sense to run it on a 3DS emulator, right?

Personally, I'd prefer red/cyan rendering for the 3D effect as I have quite a few glasses for that lying around. It's also how I enjoy my 3D porn movies.

Now you're getting it! And as pointed out, just three well-optimised dynarecs to do and we're sorted. Man, I can't wait to emulate the 3DS on my Pandora. When my pandora gets here, of course, after xmas.

So it's one optimized dynarec per D, eh. OK, I think I'm understanding the technology now.

4 dynarecs, dammit.
1 for cpu, etc.
1 per screen and
1 to emulate sensless scratching on the touchscreen.

Oh wait, sensless scratching on the touchscreen is enough to solve abou 99% of all nds games, so we don't need to emulate the screens anymore, making cpu and scratching obsolete.

Now, we don't need any dynarec no more, we just have to solve the problem of showing nothing on the pandora's screen and have an emulator with 99% compatibility.

Amazing

I'm working on a nintendo ds emulator that simulates a nintendo ds running out of batteries as soon as you start it up. It currently runs about half speed with sound.

I hope to finish this one day so I can work on my other nintendo ds emulator, which simulates a nintendo ds plugged into an AC outlet during a lightning storm.

great. Please, make it run in a cloud. Local apps are so 90s.

And, we were worried about sand and salt water in ED's Pandora....

Now we just need to figure out how to attach a woman to our Pandora and we will have the whole 3DS experience!

Well, yes, but what do you connect to that lanyard hole that you can connect to the woman?

Like I said, use your imagination. Should the need ever arise I'm pretty confident I have all that I need.

At the risk of getting dangerously back on topic, I know nothing about DS Emulation. Is Wireless connectvity possible in any theoretical emulator (that probably won't be) made for the Pandora. ie is it emulated in any of the current emulators... either DS to DS or using Nintendo WFC?

I'm not sure. I heard that Nintendo's WiFi chip used a modified version of the protocol for connecting between devices, however I don't know if those modifications are hardware- or software-based.
