Funny, the instant that I read it and saw that you are from the Netherlands, I thought of Jurn and his Gemrb video. (which I am still very grateful for, Jurn!)
As I recall from school, the general rule about the whole "I" and "me" thing is to say the phrase without the middle statement and whichever word is correct in that context is correct... but it is quite possible that I remember it wrong since it has been 25 years or so since the last time I was in an english class!
