$88!!? That's cheap as chips, mate!!! Regardless of the lack of L R buttons, I might just get one now. :)

By the way, could we map the other buttons (example shown below) out as L or R?

how is that cheap as chips? Save for the bigger screen, it is worse in every way compared to the dingoo - which is even cheaper still!

And no, i have no confidence at all that coders thought to allow you to map other buttons as shoulder buttons.

Engadget wrote an article on it: http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/08/jxd-v3-handheld-is-confused-confusing-and-altogether-interestin/

It looks interesting, but hell to hold. I can just imagine some serious wear on the inside of your thumbs where they push up against the sides. I highly doubt it would be possible to change those to L/R, and they would be nearly impossible to press anyway because of their position and the lip.

An interesting addition to the Dingoo/WIZ market!

Chris
design is cool, emulation capabilities look like crap though

The controls placement looks really awkward. They would have to be placed near the screen to be able to hold the device conveniently while playing games. You sacrifice shoulder buttons, too. The borders left and right also get in the way. What a design failure

The poor control placement is clearly an imitation of the PSP Go. It's horrible on that, and won't be better with a bigger device and large rims on the sides. Chalk this one up not to creative design but blind imitation.

nice design, but looks like another dealextreme product. some chinese mp4 player with as many cheap functions pushed in as possible, to attract the crowd.

i thought i'd be cancelling my order when i saw the pictures. Guess photos cant always say more then 1000 words.

Reportedly, the device even features an FM radio tuner
Wow, really? That isn't something I got for free from my credit union and that cost 4 cents to make in China.
No, wait, it is. And what the hell would I do with FM radio?

but we need more specs...

anyways for 113 dollar it would be a good replacement for my current mp3 player wich is totally crap.

RedBaron started a thread for this here: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/51833-jxd-v3-clamshell-pmp-gamer

But please don't post this stuff in the Pandora forum :c

Just my thoughts, I haven't seen any games with Mario that have any graphics like that to start with!
