Sorry, I tried to google it. Probably one of my Daoist (Taoist) books. Maybe 'Scholar Warrior'. I actually want to find it again. Might be from one of the books by Douglas Hofstadter, he kinda thinks like a Daoist even if he never identified as one. I do know I read it many years ago, like 8-10.God Ginrai said:BackAssward said:Here is a good fable (paraphrased):

That is really cool. Do you have a link to the original story from which it was paraphrased?

Edit: Just to elaborate on the Fable's story. Clearly there is such a thing as undeniable insanity, but there are grey areas that vary by the society. Some tribal cultures see the insane as blessed by the gods. Insane but savants in some ways, the mental difference allowed them to get past conventional reasoning. Think of the oracle in the 13th Warrior movie/book.
Also, think of this, most cultures think of suicide as abhorrent, but then, what of a dishonored Samurai and old Japanese culture? Even in old western culture, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet.
People forget the relativity of things. Nothing is set in stone.
