I asked someone from Australia yesterday, and they said they pronounce it "eksy". I think I've heard at least one or two Americans call it "eksy" as well. I just think it's silly, though... it doesn't really fit well in to English pronunciation "rules".
Even though you've defined the definition for .pnd to be p-nnnd, I'm still going to say P N D.. it's just easier for me to pronounce, even if it's longer.
