Well done guys. Even though I have had faith in you right from the start it's still a relief for me to see the green light. God knows what it must feel like for you guys.

I'd just like to say a personal thank you for getting this thing off the ground. I have wanted something like the Pandora for years... Mmmm Portable Miggy with keyboard... etc etc.

Awesome.

All the best guys and I hope you go on to make a bloody fortune. You deserve to!

ehh I am totally pro the team but they did not 'do' anything :D (at least this weekend) they created a bit of panic and then resolved that.

Well what the heck

one big hats off!

They gave the green light. That was a huge decision :)

This is the final big stumbling block overcome as far as I can see. Today as it says on the unofficial Blog "Pandora Are Go" I think that sums up a lot of peoples feelings. It certainly sums up mine. To me the Pandora has gone from "It'll be nice when I get it" to "wow should get it in a few weeks."

I do wonder what the next disaster will be, probably people somehow breaking their firmware. You will probably need ext2 ability to recover via SD so that's going to confuse some people. Ubuntu CD to the rescue!

Nope, you can boot a mini-rescue kernel via USB which flashes an image from SD Card :)

so is Fatih going to look at the cases before they are shipped out, or is the Pandora team just holding their breath and praying for the best?

I just had a thought, you might want to sell official recovery SD cards. I'm sure that there will be plenty of people who would want one, or at least feel more comfortable knowing that they're there. And, it'd be a good opportunity to make $20 for a $2 SD card, and a little bit of effort and hopefully a cool pandora-logo label. As for the price-point, I had to pay $20 for a cd image to fix my TiVo. My hard-drive died and I needed to install the TiVo software on a new drive. Of course, I think that the image should be free to download so that users with the know-how could do it themselves, but you could charge a premium to those who want the convenience.

$20 seems a bit steep, but I'm sure $5 for a recovery SD would be reasonable.
