GP32 Gpquake On Sourceforge

Haha, well, too must quake give one a basic quake routine ^^. I hangs underwater anyways. same for the lava on hard ^^

Holy shit, I can't believe I thought this was just the Quake Doom WAD! That's what I thought it was when I read the news so I just ignored it because I wasn't all too interested in the WAD...stupid me!

EDIT: Just tried it out and it looks really nice, albeit dark and hard to see. And the controls (looking) take some getting used to, but it's still really nice. Time to show it off to my brother :D

Yuglooc still dosnt hide that fact that you dont actually need to go in the water :p

Also I realised what I did to make it not crash in the water..

Start a new game
Goto options and make the screen as small as it will go
go in the water :p

I think it works with bigger screens but I have not tested it so no more water lockups ;)

Ok guys, here it is!

Compiled with gcc 3.4, and clocked to 133, 156, 160, and 166, and most importantly should work for any size smc (I always knew that 32mb smc thing was crap - it was a memory problem afterall). Compiling with gcc 3.4 means that even 133 is now smoother than 160 was with an older gcc!.

http://gp32.sector808.org/quake/gpq156.fxe
http://gp32.sector808.org/quake/gpq160.fxe
http://gp32.sector808.org/quake/gpq166.fxe

You'll also need pak0.pak which goes in gpmm\quake\id1\

I'll post the code changes once I sort out exactly what I did to fix it, but from what I remember the only changes needed were uncommenting a couple of array defines in a couple of functions, and commenting out the mallocs that were being used instead.
awesome!

what caused that smc bug?
would you agree with putting your new source on the sourceforge cvs repository? (and releasing the files on sourceforge?

it would be awesome if we could work on this together (in case you want to improve it further).

if you sign up on sourceforge i can make you a member of the project

the biggest benefit is the free webspace and cvs for all :)

just to clarify some stuff:

i have a cvs up at sourceforge. i hope we can put the source there. (see link in my signature)
we should merge the gpquake source with the new pocketquake source with fixed point math.

Full version off the Linux CD works fine for me (stored as RPM, so just use alien to convert to a tar.gz and pick up pak0.pak and pak1.pak from in there). Only tested wandering around the first level a bit.

Can't add much - no sound (obviously) and visuals are a lot dim, but otherwise like playing it on an under-specced PC of the day. Nice.

maybe you could use math-sll to warp float algorithms... dont know
maybe it's not going to be faster than actual gcc3.4 implementation
the new pocketquake source has fixed point math which should be even faster.

there's a package with all clockspeed versions on sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gpquake/

so if this can run mods(like the pocket quake version can aprently) , does that mean you can use some of the bots to play a deathmatch ?

3 demo(s) in loop

pls help !!!

P.S. i`m sure i downloadet the newest version :( i read trough the complete threat

P.P.S i`m using the pak0.pak from drumaster (tried the one from the id site too but they both say the samt ting )

k.

i've uploaded a new version, but i wasn't able to test it.

it's based on woogals latest code, which means gamma support.

compiled with gcc 3.4.1 and crunched with b2fxec 0.5d and with an icon.

if someone could tell me if it work's i'd be great!

gpquake 0.21 !!!UNTESTED!!!

The gamma works very well in the menus but the game refuses to start...we can't play with this version, but nice try! :)

sorry drumaster but you are wrong:
I can play with this version without prob (but you cant change gamma during a game)

see you
Are you sure ta have the good version? :)

In all case, if this version works only on some few gp32, that's there is a problem in it. ;)
