GPD WIN 2

So a couple of new bits of info have come out.

1) GPD have said the WIN 2 has been in development for 7 months and is 70% complete. They said that doesn't mean it will take a further 3 months to finish, it could take less than 3 months to 6 months to complete.

2) GPD also said the WIN 2 will go up on Indiegogo when development completes.

3) It's been confirmed to have a 6" screen .

Probably going to be pricey, but we will see. Though it does seem to me that it will be sold alongside the current WIN and not be replacing it. ie like a iPad and iPad pro situation. We shall see.

Given that the Indiegogo campaigns for the curent WIN and the Pocket both started in February (1 year apart), odds on the WIN 2 IGG campaign also starts in Feb

Here is a pic of the prototype in semi assembled state showing the back ports etc. M.2 slot can be seen , as can the 3 trigger arrangement and the exhaust vent. Lid seems to be metal again

I wonder what they used to take the picture. :p

I am not interested in one for myself right now, however I am interested in it overall, especially if there are less issues and good Linux support. Of course metal is nice, so thumbs up on sticking with that.

Looks gorgeous...

Edit: still not liking the reversed analog/direction...

Pretty nice for a Windows Handheld indeed, and they got rid of the whyd buttons on the right side (like L3 and R3), which where pretty arkward to hit in games who need them (Like Brutal Legend)
but my next Handheld will be the Pyra, and until then my Win 1 works pretty good...

My Question was more "Retoric"
Some Month ago, i bought Crysis on GOG, to play it on my GPD Win, and its works pretty well..
But Crysis was the Game, that a lot time a good PC had to run..
On my GPD WIn 1, i also run Farming Sim 2009, Rigs of Rods 4.0, Fallout New Vegas..

You will have to edit your post to the forum standard then and insert your question in:[RETHORICALQUESTION][/RETHORICALQUESTION]

1) WIN 2 has two batteries, each 3.8v and 4900mAh , ie 9800mAh in total. Iif you consider most batteries in mobile devices are 3.7v. It would equate to a battery ~ over 10,000mAh if it were 3.7v. GPD claim over 6 hours of gaming time
2) It has dual vibration motors - new feature for the WIN2
3) They got a design company this time around to design it. It's the company that won the Red Dot Award (what ever that is)
4) 720p 6" screen made by Sharp - with Gorilla Glass 4, M3-7y30 and M.2 2242 slot - card swappable - all as we knew already
5) supports PD 2.0 fast charge
6) Indiegogo campaign currently planned for early Jan
7) The Lid material -> "The framework of the cover is of light, strong magnesium alloy material to avoid deformation-induced screen bending. The rounded edge design shows more affinity. The black removable ABS cover can be replaced by stamping process made zinc alloy stereoscopic cover, or it can be pasted with personalized metal stickers and adhesive stickers. To perfectly create your unique ultimate dynamic 3D heavy metal styled handheld by yourself."
8.) Many will like this about the battery - motherboard proximity -> "As for the design of internal structure layout, benefited from the change from the L-type motherboard into a dual motherboard superposition design, the saved room can be used to store the double battery stack, which effectively prevents the conduction of heat, generated by the battery, to the motherboard"
9) 15W TDP - I suppose that is upto
10) The performance of the M3-7y30 shows about 2 times the performance of the Z8750, games tested show around twice the frame rates
11) The M.2 Card can be easily swapped
12) uSD card slot is more than twice as quick for read and write compared to the current WINs uSD card slot
13) DDR3 RAM at 1866MHz
14) Comes with 128GB M.2 SSD card installed
15) WIN 2 fan can pump out air at 8 times the rate as that of the WIN 1's fa

This doesn't make sense. LithiumIon batteries have defined voltages by design, and these vary with how full they are.
There's 3.7V and 4.2V, 3.8V simply doesn't exist for batteries.
A fully charged 3.7V battery usually goes up to 3.9V.

But it’s a lot juice whit 2 Battery’s,
Hopefully this ditnt make the device too heavy..

Wobei i have to say, that i ditnt played my GPD Win Battery empty yet, i don’t know how long it’s lasts, so I don’t know how useful it is to have 2 Big Batterys in the WIN 2..

But I would like to know how the Win 2 will compare whit the Pyra (First Batch, whit a OS Version who supports the Power Safe Features of the OMAP 4 , not the Day One Version which will be Shipped whit the Pyra) in case of battery Life

Two batteries design tends to occur more frequently, to allow non rectangle battery...

actually there are high voltage lipo cells available for model aircrafts etc. : https://hyperion-world.com/hyperion-g7-hvli-article
about 10% more capacity than normal cells but shortened lifespan (less charging cycles) ... but that was back 2015 I think, perhaps they make better ones now ? or they live longer if you do not draw the freakish amount rc models do xD
