Good Deals On Batteries

Well, there is already a thread with the Best Deals available on the internet. The reason why these aren't in there is probably because they're simply terrible batteries.

1.5ah is very little, most new batteries are near the 3ah mark which makes an almost exponential difference in how long they'll last. And still at $1 per battery, it's not much better a deal than you can get for newer, higher-rated batteries.

And I wouldn't recommend the NiCad technology to anyone. It's quite outdated, the batteries don't last long, etc. Not much better than disposables, really.

Yes, these are bad deals, but I appreciate the thought of looking for a deal for your fellow boardmembers. But no one should buy these. Thanks though :)

Actually 12V 650 mAh is a hell of a lot of power. 5200 is the rating it would get at 1.5V, but of course it might fry the GP2X because its 12 volts (24 with 2!), and of course the famous memory effect of NiCD batteries makes them pretty useless.

If only they made AA size Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries :(

They do ;-), just dunno how it is going to perform in the GP2X, here is the link that me and my friend find 2 week ago.

Lithium ion

But they provide a bit more than 3v so maybe need to do some ajustements, also they have other lithium-ion on that website and nimh also ;-).

Just no, the mAh is the same for cells wired in series, each cell has a 650mAh rating.

Do a Google on GP32 Li-Ion, there is a great way to put them in, I don't recommend it without a controller circuit, it isn't worth it, the Li-Ion can explode and need a charging/using circuit.

Just need to hook them up in parrallel not in series, the GP2X can take up to 5 volts (ONLY through the Battery terminals, using the port on the side does not go through the regulator and can break the GP2X).
