GOG.com

The new next two releases on GoG (Wings, Halfway) are regionally priced too, like most indie titles that got there after they started this mess.

It was supposed to get more big publishers rather than lose two of them (Frictional and Nordic) and making every indie dev demanding the weirdest price schemes.

They just shot themselves in the knee big time.

BTW: "Halfway" is the first game I noticed to be cheaper for Germans than for US citizens, normally it's the other way round.
The new Lucasfiulm titles seem to be not regionally priced.

Yes and that's a really pleasant surprise.

Shame on you, regional pricing loving indies, even Disney doesn't do it.

The new Deadalic adventure is regional priced too just like their other stuff, btw...

Buy it via vpn outside the EU, it can save you some money^^
Sending payment details via VPN... brave.

I won't hand money to those people anyway, I wouldn't even do it if I would live in Russia (and therefore always getting the lowest price).

As far as I did undertstand it, this does not happen randomly. For old games the "no regional pricing policy" still applies, but its decided on a per case basis wether this applies for newly released titles - thats why the nordic games catalogue won't come back anytime soon, as nordic games insisted on regional pricing for their older titles, while gog.com did not gave in.
Edit:

I said "by by" to my gaming budget for the next two months and bought the whole bunch (even Kotor). I am a tad disappointed that there isn't any real bonus material included (I had hopes for the Indy 4 soundtrack). Tried the 1998 versions X-Wing and T-Fighter (some older versions are included too) and they run ok, but not as hassle free as I had anticipated on Windows 8: Both require a connected joystick now (I played them with mouse and keyboard back then) and often as not parts of the desktop are flickering through.

Don't like the new look of X-Wing (played only the floppy version before), while the "flight" gfx looks definately better, the pixelart in the menus/briefings/cutscenes looks a lot "cheaper" than in the old version, in my opinion.

Edit2:

Forgot: The CD Version of Tie Fighter is not the Collecters CD that was release around 1995!

If it's through https, even a VPN shouldn't be able to listen in, shouldn't it? It'll know the domain you're connected to but all the data is end-to-end encrypted, the VPN just acts as a middleman to pass that data along. If someone has cracked the security and https is no longer secure then we're all screwed regardless of whether you're using a VPN or not.

well, in theory you're clear, but if, for whatever reason you "trust" a bad certificate, the VPN outpoint would be the perfect place to intercept everything and serve you some fake https pages...

if you have a fake certificate installed you're screwed no matter what but not using a VPN makes it way harder to place a mitm attack.

So to be safe, before using a VPN to purchase anything online, remove all installed certificates, and don't trust any that are bad. A little due diligence and no need for bravery.

Only that having to cheat to not get discriminated because of your nationality is like buying a Steamworks game and then cracking it afterwards.

You're still supporting the problem with your money.

I think you don't get how a VPN works It's way more secure than your usual connection.
I don't think you get how a VPN works. A "usual connection" is supposed to be through trusted services, ISPs and backbone and servers, a bunch of routers owned by companies that have at least a theoretical interest in maintaining good relations with their customers.A VPN still has all that but in addition you are bringing a third party into the mix, one which doesn't necessarily have to pretend to have your interests in mind. There are some paid VPNs that will promise security, there are some free VPNs that will promise security, but at the end of the day they are small potatoes and are aware of it and if they can make a quick buck off your emails and then vanish there's nothing you can do about it. VPNs do not suddenly make things more secure, do not believe you are safer because you are using a VPN. You're more anonymous, but anonymous does not mean safer. If you are sending private information you are at most as secure as using a VPN as not, with some probability of being less secure.

Always encrypt your private data, don't trust bad certificates unless you know what you're doing.

If you use an vpn someone else controlls she (or he) could read and change all traffic between you and the internet. This would be a big problem for security. If you own a vpn, you don't have to worry about this. Its the with tor exit nodes. If your traffic is end to end encrypted it is semi secure (maybe side channel attacks, possible exploit attack on your browser etc).

We realy need a good way to distribute hard to forge certificates which are signed by trusted people, not NSA companies or the chinese goverment.

With different levels and a tree of trust.

Maybe make it possible to collect signs and you need  at least 10 signs to be securely verificated. From Tier1 people like bill gates, linux torvalds, tannenbaum,  steve wozniac, donald knuth, bruce schneier, felix von leitner, nikolaus schaller and EvilDragon.

Tier2 people are people who are trusted by Tier1 people and got the key signed.

Tier3 people are people who are trusted by Tier2 people.

Tier4 people are people who are trusted by Tier3 people.

Level 1: Facebook, Googlemail, Paypal, ebay, twitter: only Tier1

Level 2: goverment sites, big national mail providers etc

Level: 3 Pandora Alive, shops

Level4: normal homepages, Tumblr Pron Blogs
