Just go to a store buy a PSP, switch it with the dodgy unit and then return it for a refund

Errm... would only work if Sony was REALLY stupid, as the PSP has model numbers on it ;)
but the gay store clerk wont check and confrim the model #. they have no way of doing that

Stickers can be swapped and/or case backs can be switched ;) Yes it is a bit of a dodgy act, but fuck Sony and their defective shit, it is their fault in the first place. They would be replacing it anyway if bought through a store.

Just as long as he remembers to flash to the newest FW. If the guy should pull out the unit and turn it on and see it in Japanese.... DOH!

The Japanese FW is not in Japanese :) At least not the 1.5, cause that's the machine I have (yeah, my SQUARE-button also squeaks, though I never even had the idea replacing it for that minor thing...)

no, because the store would be dealing with the refund and they would either be uneducated or couldn't care less

So you opted not to return it? Why the hell not :S If you couldn't PM him, his box is probably full, just email instead.

if you were told to return it, i'm sure you would be satisfied with the outcome as gbax are usually the most laid back company you could deal with when it comes to returns. Unless you deal with us and we are even more laid back!!

well id return it and never see it again or its money, and i'm not going to take that risk.

I seem to remember GBAx being a quite honest company, but if you say so.

I know this isn't gbax, it's another importer but I saw this and it reminded me of this thread.

Morelle then asked the judge if he is permitted to offer replacements to consumers returning faulty PSPs, claiming that ten per cent of units he sells are sent back.

Sony responded by asking the judge to rule that Morelle send any returned PSPs on to them, offering to supply his customers with replacement consoles after September 1. The judge ruled that this was not required, but said that the retailer could return to court, giving 24 hours notice to Sony, should any such issues arise.
