Hopefully more than 400mhz... I mean, the GP32 was 5 or 6 times faster than the GBA. Obviously I don't expect something quite like that this time, but a substantial amount still...trooper posted on Jul 12 2005 at 09:45 PM said:Amiga.....Mmmmm, I love the sound of that.
Maybe a bit too big to fit in your pocket though.
My thinking is: 400mhz 320x240, Gizmondo or ninja anyone.

I don't think so... I think he just means in terms of hardware is more similar to how the Amiga was--instead of the GP32 which is apparently more similar to the ST.Shadow of Chaos posted on Jul 12 2005 at 11:59 PM said:Amiga? jeez.. it sounds like we are actually taking a trip to the past, not advancing.. i guess this one aint for me then

Certainly the GP32 is far more powerful than the ST.
Hmm, that's catchy; behold the mighty SPS! "My SPS is better than your PSP!"Magus 86 posted on Jul 12 2005 at 09:22 PM said:Well, like I said before, I don't care if their new system is called the Steaming Pile of Shit...
That's a good thing! I just hope it's backwards compatible software-wise... that should be one of the first things on their priority list (look how well it worked for Nintendo)!craigix posted on Jul 13 2005 at 01:34 AM said:OK, some things...
Firstly it does not use SMC

I would certainly think the GP32 is more powerful than an ST since it can emulate it But yeah I think he is hinting that the new model would have custom hardware in it like the Amiga.

i cant get that fake one out of my mind it looked really cool ;P
but something like the wonderswan would be cool to for some vertical shooters
Edit:
Hm both things sound good... either it can emulate the amiga for sure or it has custom hardware build in like the amiga....

Are you joking? i'd expect perfect N64 emulation at least.. if not, then.. the system sucks imo.. end of story <_<
Interesting.. so it might be the same speed as gp32 but with some extra hardware...craigix posted on Jul 13 2005 at 11:24 AM said:Yes, because of the new systems hardware you cannot judge it at all on CPU power.
Just think how well the GBA emulates the NES with only 16mhz...
