Game Editor

There`s always GLBasic (www.glbasic.com). This can compile an executable file for the Pandora. (or Wiz or Gp2x etc.)

This is very interesting.

Looking at both proposed software, from the point of view of GLBasic vs GameEditor, I would say that GameEditor is more attractive, as if you keep your game as Open source, you don't have to pay for a license. On the contrary, GLBasic FREE version doesn't compile for Pandora (neither iPhone, iPad, Windows Mobile) and doesn't have networking functions nor built-in 3D engine.

Actually it does all that, they just haven't updated the license information. It has a 5 minute demo mode now instead: any game you write will stop working after 5 minutes.

A reasonable compromise. Lets you experience the full power without giving away everything.

edit: and as far as sound in Game Maker, no it still doesn't work. I spent an entire weekend trying to figure out why and ended up getting no where, so set it aside. I always meant to come back to it after I had a clearer head and try again, but I also get very lazy. Sorry.

Just go to http://www.lmgtfy.com

Also I'm sure it would've helped had EvilDragon put GrafX2 rather than Graf2X!

Thank you! And yes, that probably would have helped. ;)

Ok so I've downloaded the version for the GP2X. I've downloaded the GINGE PND...

How do I get it to run? The only selectable executable I find is in the bin folder - trying to run it from within GINGE. Nothing happens.

Should I start a new thread for this? It is vaguely related tho...

P.s. This is the first time I'm trying to use GINGE (and I obviously don't know what I'm doing).

This right here once it gets ironed out a bit will be perfect ... for someone like me who a noob at coding !

I would've expected it here http://apps.openpandora.org/cgi-bin/viewarea.pl?Applications or at least be listed here http://pandorawiki.org/Software_projects#Game_Engines perhaps with even dead links, but alas it's not.

Perhaps wizardstan still knows where it is, if he still has it?

Christ it's hard to type even just the above via a kindle fire HD, Damn thing jumps to the top of the page hiding your text all the time and just copy paste is a nightmare. Nice media machine but give me a pandora for ease of control any day!

Found my old copy of gameeditor.pnd and a bunch of pnds that were released to go with it, in theory.

Here is the Game Editor PND by Wizardstan (if he is okay with this upload?)

http://www.mediafire.com/file/vff9frobfjbfzdr/gameEditor.pnd (2.1mb)

Here is the GE PND + a bunch of files to go with it (from some related thread somewhere on this forum, or I wouldn't have a copy)

http://www.mediafire.com/file/yl3hr5x7y2bxlr7/Game_editor_PND_&_GAMES_files.zip (80.1mb)

The files are :

1945

Apalia - Arena of Swords Demo.rar

Bee - AntMonsterEggWorld

DarkBoy - The Agent Training

EmoDemo

FLGolf

inc_Demo

MarioAndTheGoldenKey_ByBeeAgent

ReGameDemo.linux

TargetDefenseGED

WINTER BLAST 2.rar

Winterblast

Not sure if any use, but I offer them up incase they are of value to the game editor useage :)

Oh, huh. Guess I never did get the sound working. Blah. Sorry. I'll put it up on the repo at least.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. I have been learning programming so this isn't a huge deal. But how come this was never put on the repo? It still isn't there... though the download link works fine. Does the editor run slow on the Pandora? Is it buggy and other game engines are more stable?
