I have some wear on my dpad from use..... some paint romoval and I want to resurface the dpad by dipping it in a textured poly coat I have at home.

Can the Dpad be popped off without opening the case or digging around inside the guts of this little ting?

No. You will need to unscrew the case.

I'm pretty sure that you can't pop the d-pad out or off at all - if I'm remembering correctly, it's stuck to the keymat with some ludicrously strong industrial adhesive of some sort.

Hmmmm.

It would rip the membrane before it came off... probably.

You should be able to remove the paint from the dpad with some gentle rubbing and some paint remover which is friendly to plastic.

I'll stop there before this becomes android porn.

major bummer...

I suppose it'll be a bigger MOD or adjustment than I'd like to take on at this point.

I guess until all the paint rubs off, or the Keymat kicks the bucket... I won't be replacing it anytime soon.

Thanks for the responses ladies and gents.

Perhaps using a mineral spirits..or thinner....we'll see.
