Dosbox Fun

ROGUE!!!

Frontier Elite II runs, if I recall correctly, on Amiga 500. So with UAE4All it would be no problem because we've been told it will be running at 100% speed.

Same thing goes with many games from that era. If it runs in DOS it maybe been ported from or to the Amiga.

Just a tip :D

I just popped in as it's incredibly interesting reading the things you guys talk about...but now having seen this Frontier Elite 2 game...me wants to play!! Is this going to be likely? If so in what way? (Amiga,Dosbox,Port?) Thanks in advance for any info as I want to make sure I get a hold of whatever files are necessary to play this one as soon as it's available (looks quite interesting!)

Surely Pickle could just optimise the code for the Pandora and squeeze us all a few hundered more cycles. Not asking that much is it? :D

LBA at 3000 looks playable. I own that title. How do I get the CD into the Pandora? :p

EDIT: Sorry been on-call all week and off the beer. Not on-call tonight hence beer and typos and beer(more)!

Please tell me you mean Little Big Adventure?

Just tried LBA 2 at between 2500 and 3000 cycles... Pretty slow -- not really playable. :( This was with the detail turned all the way down, too.

Will the Pandora be compatible with external CD drives for direct ISO copying?

Terminal velocity...
Wacky wheels...
should work fine...
NICE... I loved these games!

Well, TV, definitely runs at only 2000 cycles, so it shouldn't be any trouble. I did turn down all of the graphics options, but it looks like that won't be necessary. Even at 2000 cycles, it looked like I could've turned up the graphics a bit.

And, apparently big red racing is also playable at only 2000 cycles as well. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/driving/bigredr...ad-review"

So far, if it can play the games I've seen people throw at it as well as it can, I'm going to be able to really have me some fun.

Yummie. How's the combat-scenes playing? Nice nevertheless. :)

What about sierragames? Say, King's Quest V. If that one work, ohlalalaaaaa, all classic sierra-adventures should be good.

To me Pandora seems to be worth purchasing for the dosbox-emulator alone. Found this project 1 week ago. WOW! And people have been waiting years. My oh my, patience. Hehe.!

The Sierra adventure games will be playable with ScummVM in the future, they are currently merging a different project into it. It's gonna be the older games first and it's probably gonna take a very long time but ScummVM will run faster then DOSbox on Pandora.

If Betrayal at Krondor runs that well, I'll be quite happy. I'm getting excited, it's been a long time since I played that game.

FreeSCI (the other project you mentioned) was ported to GP2X by Hooka not too long ago. It's a fantastic port. He has a Pandora preordered ;)

If you are testing games willy nilly like that. I would be likely to play the following first: Lands of Lore, any of the kyrandia games (aren't these in scummvm now?), ultima underworld, and a little game I have never heard talk about but was super bad ass..capture the flag.

I have to dig through my floppys to find the rest I really want. I won't even worry about the shoe in apogee games, I would feel too excited to think about those. I could probably name about 50 more games I played over the years that would likely work well.

EDIT: I just dug up hugo's house of horrors I, II, and III!
EDIT 2: Gobliins 1-3, Jill of the Jungle

gobliins 3 with 3000 cycles

Jill of the jungle and hugo's house of horrors I are running perfect with 3000 cycles
