Release DosBox EX - Ultimate

like thatgui said: its based on previous version of dxbx ex with dynarec
Nice, is there some source around?

There are no licenses or sourcelinks in the pnd. :(
nope. The reason i used old dosbox build is that i couldnt find sources to recompile it, again :<. License as usual GPL for dosbox.. Freeware for EX Launcher / GUI..

Very cool! Would be nice if we had an option to set controls manually...
Of This is based on normal dosbox, you can open the mapper with ctrl and f1 ingame.
Didn't know that, thanks! But it seems there is only one mapper file for all games? So if i change controls for one game it will affect every game in my list.

Commander-beef, could you please do something about the way games are launched?

1) The game configuration dialog should only show executables (exe & com) and batch files (bat), but it should exclude your 01.bat and 02.bat!

2) Implement an option to exit DosBox automatically after a game was ended and it returned to the command line (add "exit" to the second line in 01.bat & 02.bat). It should be an option, so that we can still use the command line to try out stuff and get new games to work in the first place.

And here is the reson why:

I  assumed the UI would call the chosen game file directly and I didn't like that I have to exit DosBox manually after I exited a game. Then I remembered that I had the exit command in my 01.bat, and I chose this batch file as game executable. But instead of executing my old 01.bat, the UI made a new 01.bat that called itself ... resulting in a loop that forced me to take out the battery in order to reboot!  :D

Has anyone else gotten problems with using touchscreen on this? For some games the placement of the mouse cursor under the stylus is dead on, for others it seems to be half the screen off?

I'd like to have USB mouse back again too if that was also possible?

This needs to be specifically implemented as the dosbox mapper is designed to be global (it was designed as a MS-DOS environment emulator, not a MS-DOS games emulator after all)

This is depending on how games handle the input, so I doubt there is a general solution that could solves this

Of course i can add 'exit' command at the end of 01/02 bat's. No problem

On other hand. DB EX have mapper adjusted so its possible to quit dosbox [while in loop] by pressing Left trigger + Right Trigger + Q

Yes, i got them that's why i asked for the nubs to emulate the mouse. Touchscreen is unplayable.
Can You write which games are unplayabe with touchscreen?

Also Deathgate and other adventures are difficult when played with the correct aspect ratio. Deathgate plays well most of the time, but the interface for spell casting uses a different resolution than the main game, and then the touchscreen is way off (actually it's alright in the middle of the screen and gets worse towards the edges). A mouse emulation (nubs or real mouse) is necessary for these kind of games. Without a mouse, it is also impossible to hover over things in order to see if there is a usable object under the mouse cursor. The touchscreen always invokes a mouse click ...

Ok, here's the deal. I'll add mouse/nubs to next release, and anyone interested in using it prepare a list of games [more games -> the better] with  Games issues releated to touchscreen so i can add it to compatibility list to next release fo dosbox ex. will it sounds fair for You all, mouse/nub users?

If you use notaz sdl for scaling, I think he has a switch for relative/absolute mousemode in there by now. You can try to experiment with that and what games can unse wich mode.

Included since 1.5x or something.

Edit: Newest features are only available in 1.55. Do an upgrade. It solves some other things, too.

Edit2: Or build notaz sdl yourself and include it in the pnd.

i'd might do second, but if you have a working updated build of SDL i might use it.

You can extract it from a recent firmwareimage.

Edit: why don't you want to update?

Some stuff you build with an older image might be broken on newer ones.

i'll do it, but i need find a time to do that. I have some custom apps copied to NAND, some removed, so i stayed with old image for some time.
