There is a fine line between numerator and denominator.
Only a fraction of people will find this funny.

My neighbour has a theory that it is possible to farm bees. He finds the craziest bees in the hive and keeps planting them, then digging them up to see if they have roots. I keep telling him it would be absurd, but he won't listen.

A root of an irrational number, when written as the 'root sign' encompassing the number e.g. √̅a̅b is known as a 'surd' . A bee is a single bee. One is a rational number. The bees are crazy (irrational), and a non-zero rational number multplied by an irrational number always gives and irrational result. So ab is irrational. Therefore the root of ab written as above is a surd. Yes, this is a truly awful joke.

A travelling circus came to town today, and one of the attractions was "Eric, the talking pony!". So, I went to see the show, and a pony trotted up to the microphone on the stage, and said in a weak and raspy voice that the show would be shorter than normal today because he was a little horse.
