I think we'd all like to see GBA, though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but nobody has ever said they didn't want it to happen. I'm personally a big fan, and my gp2x replaced my micro. (because I'm not such a dork that I need to carry around *two* handhelds  )
I'm not going to lose sleep over not having gba emulation or anything, but there are hundreds of good games only for it. Huge numbers of good RPGs and, oddly, racing games. I think history will show it as the last major system to make stupid 2d-gamers like me really happy.
naturally nintendo is also known for sending legal nastygrams to emu coders. So, unfortunately, I think this would end up being a project nobody could really have their (real) name on. and if a few more nails were hammered into gba's coffin first it wouldn't hurt matters.

Well, I think this sum it all. 99% of people that are asking for a gba emu are just some sort of thiefs (the 1% left are just techno geeks )
and here's where I open myself up to a few flames. The vast majority of gp2x users are thieves. wake up. Sure some of us own all the original carts and floppies that we use, but stripping them from their original media for unintended purposes is dark gray at best. A lot of it depends on legal questions that have (thankfully) not yet been answered (to my knowledge) such as if a proprietary cart connector counts as copy protection. All I'm saying is that the ratio of 99:1 is probably true of all 2x users, not just gba requesters.
