2GB and 4GB

Well, you've got to be brave to surf today without NoScript...

Now on my notebook (x64 mint 20 cinnamon), left desktop, middle FF79 1 tab, right FF79 30 tabs:

0.6GiB 1 tab (newspaper, so full of crap...), 2.4GiB 30 tabs (random)

Using NoScript + Ghostery. But again, I thought everybody used these...

Yes. It gives you a little more control because it uses a table of options rather than a list, meaning you can also block specific sites from loading images or css, it's not just about their scripting. Which is useful because you can block facebook tracker images using it, and also if a site tries to block you with a paywall overlay, you can turn their css off temporarily.

Edit: Although noscript also has options turning off XSS and ABE, but if you basically turn off all scripting that's rarely as issue with umatrix.

Firefox 79.0 on Ubuntu 20.04.1 64 bit (32 GB RAM) here, I've got 15 tabs open and it's fluctuating between 400-600 MB (give or take some MB) usage here (I added up all of firefox's threads usage). On my phone that has only 2 GB ram (Android 8.0.0, I know, getting long in the tooth) I have firefox 68.11.0 with 72 tabs open and it's using 294 megabytes (somehow). I'm only using an ad blocker for both. (Same one, Adblock Plus)

The biggest difference between uMatrix and noScript is that uMatrix does not block first party scripts by defaut.
noScript does.
That's why I use uMatrix.
noScript breaks too much for me.
uMatrix only occasionally breaks things but still blocks google tracking and stuff.

I don't but I like to live dangerously

So many babies conceived after that phrase... :p

Also it depends on what you surf and how permissively you set those extensions, but it should be punishable to have webs like these:

And also Chrome blocks some content by default (mixed content and some XS tracking) whereas FF was going to implement some fingerprint tracking blocking later this year, so that's another reason why Chrome is faster by default (which is fixed by setting the right privacy settings & extensions on FF).

It's all configurable. You can configure noscript to use a denylist rather than an allowlist (or whatever terms it's using these days), and it'll allow most things through. I've configured my umatrix to block cookies and scripts for first party sites (the site you're actually connected to, rather than one included from that site or any of it's onwards includes).

In my experience umatrix by default doesn't block enough facebook and google for my liking, so I've added more restrictions. It can also be configured to allow by default, but as with noscript I've never actually tried that mode.

Am I the only one that doesnt have more than 3 tabs open at a time?
I would love to only have three tabs open. Every so often I back things up into bookmarks so I can get them back every once is a blue moon when an upgrade drops all of my tabs, but in general I find tabs so useful, I spawn dozens a day (although I do close down most of them before the end of the day, I probably generate a longer term tab once a week or so), they're so much better than back history for logging parts of your surf for later closer reading.

This is exactly why I don't have a ton open. I get sidetracked and if I get 10+ tabs deep, I don't remember what is on say tab 3 and I might have drifted so far on a topic that tab either isn't relevant anymore or I can't pinpoint exactly why I wanted to save it.

Just me but I find 3-4 keeps me on subject and focus.

Yeah, you have to learn a few tricks to cope with so many tabs open.

First it the list of tabs dropdown, on the right hand side of your tab bar if you use firefox. Very handy to get an overview of your tabspace, and you can jump to any tab by clicking on it.

Second is tab title searching. In a search box type '% <title fragment>' and it'll pull out the named tab from your tab space and show it to you.

Not that I'm trying to convince you to open more tabs. That many tabs does take time to manage and maintain, so if you can keep things realistic as you go, you're in a better place than me.

Could be just easier to use Vivaldi, it has a native tab management with grouping, quick searching, the possibility to visualize them vertically or horizontally etc...

I have 277 tabs open, and I can switch from one to another in a flash using quick search, I don't have to search for them with the mouse and my eyes.

Why do you guys all want to open hundreds of tabs?
I have my bookmarks well sorted in folders. No need to have them all open as tabs at the same time.

I don't know about anybody else, but for myself, especially with Firefox mobile with its tab previews it helps remind me to check on websites that I would forget exist if they're a bookmark because they're right there. I use bookmarks to get Firefox to autocomplete urls I visit frequently and for tabs I'm no longer using but may want again in the future.

Some Porn Sites open lots of Tabs simultanisly, as whitout the Adds, they dont open the Video, i read this in the Internet, i dont have any experience..
I only need the 4gb Version because i had this Poor 256 mb First Batch Pandora ^^, so my Pyra should be the biggest version i can get,
