Anyone put a cellphone in this thing yet?

This thread seems to be getting derailed. I'm not talking about VoIP here. It's nice, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. What I'm looking for is making real cellphone calls through a pandora and usb 3g modem with voice. Has this ever been done before? Can it be done?

Investments, Production start, preoderings and a wish (2011-10-02)

I looked at global components website and it says "made in America". I really don't think this is the German company they were talking about. etrade and fidelity are online trading platforms. I'm wondering if you can invest in Pandora through these online trading platforms?

Anyone put a cellphone in this thing yet?

Yes, but read the links I posted. It uses this circuit to enable wireles internet and calling features on your laptop essentially turning your laptop into a cellphone. It's not "just" a simcard reader. These are 3g modems, but they also have voice enabled too so you could do VoIP or just...

Anyone put a cellphone in this thing yet?

Has anyone used those usb sim card readers to make phone calls through the pandora yet? I believe I've read something about someone using one of these usb sim card readers as a wireless modem, but they said nothing about using it to place phone calls over the pandora. Here's some links to usb...

Ok, So windows XP won't work. What about Windows 7? I here it was designed to be scalable to work with netbooks. Maybe there's a chance it will work with the pandora?

Do these opensource smartphone projects have a keyboard and gamepads like the Pandora does? Are there any true pandora phone projects in the works?

Xiilun worlds smallest computer on a module!

I haven't read anything about how much heat this thing gives off. I really don't see why it couldn't be used as part of a mobile gaming device.

Xiilun worlds smallest computer on a module!

Xillun!!! This thing is fast 1.6GHz, full functioning computer. Probably faster then your desktop from 5 years ago. With 4 USB slots and up to 2gigs of ram this maybe the next "base" to start working off of for a potential Pandora 2.0 BTW I have no idea how much it costs.

    No Wifi, No Problem?

I did some shopping around and they definitely make USB 3g modems you stick your sim card in that send and receive phone calls too. There actually really cheap, you can pick one up for less then $50USD. I just want to see on in action on a pandora.

    No Wifi, No Problem?

Have you seen the usb modems that let you send and receive phone calls via your sim card not skype? Has anyone gotten that to work with pandora?

    No Wifi, No Problem?

Has anyone tried putting one of these or something like this on there pandora? It says it comes with custom software that will install the necessary drivers automatically, but that's probably just for windows. You just need to put your own sim card in it. Maybe something like this could be...

    Replacing the CPU?

You wouldn't happen to have a link to the project site of those guys who turned a beagleboard into a gaming system? I've googled but I can't seem to find anyone who turned a beagleboard into a portable gaming rig. Basically to sum up this thread, it's impractical to replace the cpu because...

    Replacing the CPU?

Thank's for this post. I did some google research on beagleboards and came up with all sorts of interesting information. First off there's more then just the beagleboard, there's pandaboard, eagleboard, and countless other computersonamodule boards. Beagleboards are not specifically designed...

    Replacing the CPU?

I remember trying to play emulated ps1 games on my iphone (first generation) a couple years ago, and they could hardly run. Maybe some improvements made to the emulation software improved things a bit? Do you need to skip frames? Is is choppy at all?

    Replacing the CPU?

I figured that most smaller cpus like snapdragon would not "fit", however I thought that maybe some of the newer arm processors would use the similar pinouts. It was worth the try. The DM3730 you speak of is worth looking into. I googled it and found that it's a 1-GHz chip. I've read around...
