    New boards

There's one big problem (everything else is fine as far as I'm concerned). The big problem is that 'view new content', which I use to see new postings since my last visit, isn't per forum group. Which means that in the pages of new postings that I get up the Pandora posts are all intermixed with...

An appointment and boards shipping (2011-07-22)

Hm, that got me thinking - we didn't get the TV out cables with our Pandoras, did we? It was supposed to be sent later, right? I've put away my unit since way back and forgot all about the cable. EDIT: Never mind, found the answer in another (newer) thread, they're not made yet.

    Premium Pandora Review

Today I finally received mine (ordered 30/9-2008). Tested so far: wi-fi. Works. What surprised me greatly was how incredibly difficult it is to read the keys.. they're WAY too glossy. With fluorescent office lights is nearly impossible, I spent 3 minutes looking for the full stop character...

    Your pandora has been shipped

Mine has now disappeared in the mail, after the initial trouble with papers and customs. Argh.

    Your pandora has been shipped

Yes. Jacqueline mailed me info which I brought to the local customs office (fortunately there is one here), they were happy with it, I paid VAT and they faxed the postal customs office to release the package so hopefully it'll arrive in a few days. I'm pretty sure they'll add some additional...

    WiFi tethering

Ad-hoc is in many ways rubbish. Most importantly, ad-hoc mode cannot support power saving mode, so while you're connected it'll suck juice like there's no tomorrow.

    Your pandora has been shipped

And mine is stuck in customs because apparently the parcel was shipped without a commercial invoice, it only said 'pandora game console with cables' or some such, according to a letter I just received from the customs department of the postal service. Argh. Not well done. I've emailed and asked...

    A subforum for the wiki?

The problem is that the pandora wiki seems to be missing diligent moderators who can ban users+IP and delete the (annoying) content. Users can revert pages, but we can't delete all that uploaded junk. (Ideally we should also have a task force to hunt down the spammers and apply electricity to...

    Shipping and order numbers

Just got the mail. I _think_ my ordering time was around 17.15 UTC 30/9 that year.

    "Pandora consoles banned from ebay"

Tell them that it can't play 'imports' more than e.g. the Nokia N900 mobile phone, which is essentially exactly the same hardware, minus the nubs (and before anyone says D-Pad.. you can do that on the kbd of the N900, particularly with a game-gripper. And anyway the N800 has a D-Pad).

    Charging Question - Power Mats

Due to the (sometimes unfortunate) laws of physics an induction mat will always be very inefficient compared to a normal transformer (an induction mat is after all just a transformer which you unpack from its efficient self and place one coil in the mat and the other in the device to charge...

    Memory (Ram) Fragmentation

I will argue that "RAM fragmentation" is as close to a non-issue as anything could be. Normally the only time i would matter at all is when you need physically contiguous memory for non-CPU activities like DMA (and only if your DMA controller can't remap memory itself, and many can). For your...

    Battery has gone inert

li-ion/poly drains very little when removed from the device, or when used in a device with true power-off. I have an old gps that I rarely use, I check its charge now and then and it seems to last forever. I charge it every 9 months or so, if I remember, just for the heck of it. I keep it in a...

    Printer On Pandora

I wouldn't install cups on the Pandora. It's large, and 95% or more of its size is there to handle the case when a printer is connected directly to the Pandora. What you need is only the part that talks to a networked printer. Put a printer on your home computer or something, run it locally with...

    Cheap 32GB SDHC?

Very, very likely, yes. Don't buy this stuff on ebay. It's nearly always a scam. And if it's very cheap too, it's a certainty.

    Flash Support

What's the version of Chromium on Pandora? The version I have on the desktop is this one (from 'about:') Chromium 6.0.472.63 (Developer Build 59945) Built on Debian unstable, running on Debian 5.0 WebKit 534.3 V8 2.2.24 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.3...

Yes, it does. And if we also have a Chromium option on the Pandora, the better. I haven't been following everything.

Because I checked. It doesn't touch the /dev/input devices. So there must be another way.

    Flash Support

What are you folks using Flash for, mostly? I've tried to figure out what I would need it for, and there isn't much really, when you remove Youtube. And you can forget worrying about Youtube as far as Flash is concerned. I've tested the HTML5 version of Youtube on my N900, and it works...

    Swithiching Off The Touchscreen

The Nokia devices have this 'lock screen' functionality, so there must be some method available somewhere which doesn't involve something as crude as renaming device files.
