    Lack Of Fun Games

SNES emulation is in dire need of a full graphics subsystem rewrite designed for ARM processor architecture, preferably in ARM9 ASM. It's one giant mass of inefficiency-- even with transparencies turned off, many games are unplayably slow, even with massive overclocking of the ARM920T. The most...

    Onestation

960px is a lie. They must just figure, with all the talk of widescreen these days, the wider the better. :P That's why they didn't exaggerate the vertical resolution. Take a look at their logic. 320 pixels = 320 x An RGB triad of 3 subpixels PER pixel = 960 pixels Very deceptive. EDIT: ah...

    New Dreamcast Game For 2007!!

I've always found Power Stone 1/2 much better than even Smash Bros.-- especially as a party game. The items/weapons and environmental interaction are vastly superior, and the fighting over gems for your super abilities is loads of fun.

    Getting Into Ds Homebrew.

The point of the software is that you need to patch most NDS ROMs before they'll run from the card. The program can write the files to the SD card or just to your HDD and you copy them directly. I am sure there is another program that can do the same patching job.

    Different Voltage Output Values

I'd trust the meter, not the board. If your 12v rail is a little high, that's better than it being a little low, since for most components it's being stepped down to say, 1.6v for higher current, lower voltage. Too LITTLE voltage = too little result current, too MUCH = extra current which is...

    Getting Into Ds Homebrew.

For maximum compatibility with NDS and GBA software I strongly recommend an M3 product (DO NOT get an M3 'Pro' or 'Professional' version as these cannot run GBA programs and many homebrew apps, too.) Supercards are OK as well, but they don't provide fast enough SD access for many GBA games to...

    New Dreamcast Game For 2007!!

It seems to be a tradition for vertical shooters to run on outdated hardware and push it to its limits. For example, Cave's famous shooters (e.g. Dodonpachi, Esp.ra.de, EspGaluda..) run on 68000 processor based arcade systems. That's a processor that was invented in the late 70s. Yet, they...

    No More 275mhz Units?

I'll put your fourth-grade level corncob remarks aside and address the issues here... AGAIN ... (this thread really didn't need to come back from the grave, did it?)

Oh, How The Mighty Have Fallen.

I didn't plan on buying a PS3 and this was all rather expected. But this pretty much cements my predictions. Development costs are even further through the roof than I anticipated.. this guarantees no smaller, more innovative game studios will be developing for the machine, so most of what we...

    Building A New Computer

Future-proofing is a relative thing. I count a 'future proof' machine as one that has a motherboard that supports the next generation, at least, of CPUs and the RAM required to run them, as well as the required slots for standard peripheral cards e.g. video, audio, so forth.. as well as...

    Building A New Computer

Intel's current offerings are faster at the high-end, but not enough that you can say you won't need to upgrade for significantly longer. Whichever CPU brand you choose, you should be picking a socket and motherboard chipset that ensures longevity of the system via compatibility with the latest...

    No More 275mhz Units?

Oh, I wish him luck with suing me. He'll need it. ;) At any rate, there is no issue of proof. I have the required technical knowledge, documentation and records of correspondence with Craig to make my points' truth apparent. I've posted much of it before, but apparently, given you and others...

    No More 275mhz Units?

'Well put'? More GP2X-fanboy-viewpoint-touting circlejerky nonsense from where I'm standing. But I will let this topic of discussion end since all that needs to be said HAS been said. I'm not going to be changing any minds at this stage, everyone's views are set in stone, apparently. That said...

    No More 275mhz Units?

For use in a game device, the stick is broken. It is the same one in MK1 and MK2. I don't care if GPH has better soldering in the MK2. They didn't provide a free replacement for MK1 users, and MK1 users have broken products. The plastic is solid but of low quality. A lot like that used in...

    Building A New Computer

What does shitty power killing your CPU mean AMD CPUs are poor? :P If anything, survival from a blown PSU is dictated by PSU and motherboard design. As for the thermal compound bit, any CPU can be destroyed by overuse of thermal compound. Again doesn't really make much sense.

    Real Hot Stuff

Probably depends on the thickness of the card. For something as costly as a MicroSD card I would tape it just to be safe if it's on the outside, especially if I am pulling the device in and out of my pocket frequently.

    Building A New Computer

That sort of overclockability is common on Venice cores and derivatives. Mine is, IIRC, a Toledo core and easily made the jump from 2.2 -> 2.7 GHz with total stability, ~2.8 with near-total stability. Some of the newer Socket 939 Opterons can go even further without touching the core voltage--...

    No More 275mhz Units?

I'm not going to have my programming skills brought into question by someone with a Bambi avatar and a furry member name who has probably never even written a Hello World application and could not code their way out of a wet paper bag to save their life. I'd also love to know what programming...

    No More 275mhz Units?

What the hell do you think Craig programmed? Nearly none of the problems I have with the GP2X involve software. And Craig didn't write the firmware, if that's what you're talking about. All he does is sell systems. Do you even have any idea what you're talking about? Oh, and you guys telling me...

    No More 275mhz Units?

I'll live. In my part of the world it is 10:40 PM. Where do you recommend I go at this hour to make my mark in the world? My deepest apologies for spending the rest of the day hard at work after getting up at 6 in the morning to do so. If I visit internet forums before going to sleep, I clearly...
