Status Of Psx4gp2x Work Being Done :)

The shifting of pixels usually found in text and vertical lines in FF7 is a known bug. I spoke to Unai about it and he's working on getting it fixed. :)

The timer for async sound can be tweaked so I'll work on that shortly.

Not via emulation, it would be a nightmare to even imagine. Sorry.
I think he was meaning if you could make the menu for the emulation settings (load game, settings, etc) look like the menu from pocketsnes or squidgesnes.

Also, the graphical corruption in FF7 just happened with this build. It wasn't like that in the previous one (previous one was about perfect graphically).

Ah whew! Yes the GUI will get an overhaul as the emulator makes more progress.

Also about FF7, I am now using Unai's latest code which has that shifting pixel issue. The new GPU will progress into having frameskipping options and frame limiting as well. ;)

Good :) Frame limiter is important to 2D games at this moment :) Thank you guys ;)

To like, two 2D games. None of the ones I've tried have approached the kind of speed you're preaching.
almost all 2d games i try there max fps is normaly 30 and iam getting a solid 25 fps most or better. For 3d games like tekken its painful and there slow but a few exceptions like resident evil. 2d game sare great on the gp2x sometimes you just got mess with the clocks.

First off, some games run at 20 and 30 FPS. Also, that VSync should never be over 60 at default clocks. If it's over 60, it's going too fast. On top of that, it seems the framerate counter is averaging on the low side of things. There's points in games where things run too fast, it's not the normal circumstance, but it occurs.

But the big thing noted, is that frame limiting will help most when frameskip is implemented and things get fast.

There's also more than 2 games that are fullspeed or faster on the emulator, in-game. They just aren't what people want to play on this emulator. They tend to be games like Bust A Move 4, and puzzle games. Strikers 1945 and some other shmups are getting there if not fullspeed at certain overclocks. There's Command & Conquer Red Alert, and Mortal Kombat Trilogy, as well as about 2500 other games that haven't been tested yet.

Unfortunately most can only test a select few number of games. I'd like to know about some of the 2500 other games in the PS1 library that haven't been tested yet. There could be some surprises.

ok add einhander fullspeed and area 51 runs great but has many graphical glitches its most likey the rip and mortal kombat 2(j) runs fullspeed Games like zanac and yugioh run fullspeed as well its like all the 2d games run great and puzzle games like you said .....we need people to play other games besides resdient evil like all those 2d games and stuff that people has never heard of. Iam sure we could find some great ones that has great speed andsome new exciting cool games.

would you mind posting the settings for full speed? I'm using the heavily compressed rom from the torrent site.

build 071907
Ok tested the following games at 270mhz ram tweaks on cicle 1 psx clock 100%, interlace 0 (changin it did'n make a diference)

mdk
Fps: 7-10
it runs at low frame rate but it is pretty playable cause it play like it has frame skip (odd)

mortal kombat mythologies
FPS: 11-13

silhouette mirage
It crashes the emu after the new game/ loading screen :(

i wanted to see how fast this one runs cause it's only 2d an menu was running above 40 FPS but did'n load the real game.

About framelimiting.. I've reached 35-40 fps in FF7 at some places when there's not much going on and the game runs too fast. ;)

Anyway, I haven't played around with psx4gp2x in a while but I just tried the latest version and I couldn't seem to activate progressive interlace. Why?

The interlace was taken off in favour of increasing pixel sizes

Isnt it because they are using an older version of the renderer? :p

I know, I know, theres about 1497 games I should be testing, but the FF games are among the few that work that I actually own, so :D

FF VIII is unplayable once you reach the world map, it *will* run at cycle speeds as high as 6, albiet slow, but at these high speeds the *attack swirl* hard locks the gp2x. Only tried FF VIII cos of my FF VII world map issues, will try FF IX once I find my damn CD1 ! Tried Harry Potter and the Philophers stone, cos I found it while looking for FF IX, and it loads, but some bad GFX issues in menes make it unplayable.

Also, I'm getting some newly added graphical corruption on the frames around menus (the little white bars around menus and whatnot) that looks like a bunch of vertical white bars instead of one long white horizontal line.

Good luck.
Are you sure that this bug is new? I remember this bug from some versions ago... can you confirm this.

I can confirm this bug was introduced in what zodttd would call the latest/newest version of the GPU. When he went back to an earlier version for compatibility the problem was fixed. When he just recently reintroduced the latest GPU it came back. I assume its be around since this latest version of the GPU. I pretty sure ive seen it in many versions past.
