Its cool that you guys criticize, but if you are really looking forward to this emulator or want to help it progress please consider donating. There are three amazing programmers working very hard to make psx on a gp2x a reality. I donated a few weeks ago and (if I secure some sort of job for the summer) I plan on donating again. If we keep an interest and continue supporting this project, it might evolve to one of the best emulators on gp2x.

How is donating going to help with the progress? I'm all for donating (see sig), but as an offer of appreciation ... not "incentive".

wipeout2000: Anybody told you I *CAN* criticize, I'm also working on the emulator :p

Well, not much currently but I'm partly responsible for the Palm OS side and have given some advice to ZodTTD on it. And I know what I'm saying--it's not criticism, it's the reality--the emulator's damn cool but *not-usable-for-playing-most-games*. *** YET ***.

if I coded, i dont think i'd care what the donations where for, incentive or just general "thanks" for coding it, it's still incentive for me either way.

Well as long as it's not like some other scenes where authors demand for donations in order for them to continue their project, then it's all good..

But then again, that won't be donationware anymore :p

Can anyone tell we whats the best working PSX game for this emulator if any, I'm talking in terms of performance. BTW, great job for even having a working PSX emulator on the GP2X.

I've played a lot of games and the performance of Final Fantasy 7 surprised me the most.

Thanks for the reply, I saw it being played on youtube and I was stunned that a PSX emulator this early, could play Final Fantasy 7 like that.

I'm going to test MLB 2000 and WCW Mayhem on it late later this april. Call me crazy but its worth a try.

I guess you don't like youtube. I was still stunned when it played the intro, but Tomba 2 was really impressive. And I guess I am a crazy little aligator. I think I'll try WWF Smackdown 1 and 2 as well.

Oops! All this time I thought the boards were down due to the news on the frontpage! They should really make a news post that the boards are up again!

Unai just messaged me (which is how I knew the boards are up) and said Chui has been working very hard on GP2PSX's codebase. He now has the code working on multiple platforms including the PC and DC.

I think having it working on the PC will improve development time greatly on the rest of the platforms.

I haven't heard from Unai how the GPU is going just yet. He really wants to rewrite the GPU from scratch and I think he's the best person to do it. :)

The dynarec is a complicated beast, but we have a dynarec for the PC already made. So once we have the OP codes "bytecode" for ARM it won't be such a hard process of figuring it out.

So the project is still alive, it's just been a lot of work lately. Now that were all back in contact things will go quicker again.

I'm really glad everyone's stuck around through all this waiting. Thanks. :)
