Gp2psx V0.33

awesome zodttd, nice work as usual, i think you really need a proper interface though, all these crazy button configs to change things will get confusing

regarding Shikaku's sig,
I assume it stands for ZODiac Transport Tycoon Deluxe, since that appear to be hs previous claim to fame (he also ported t to GP2x, but its on the backburner a bit since pupular demand is focused on the PS1 emulation)

im noticing a huge speed increas with sound off in ridge racer. but there is a large graphic error present on the botoom of the screen, buts its a lot faster than the earlier no sound release.

Thanks! :)
ingrin is correct. As for GP2X's TTD port, I have put it on the backburner for awhile. I'm waiting to finalize my PocketPC and Palm ports of TTD until I update GP2X's version. Got it running on Smartphones running Windows Mobile 5 too. I love that game. :)

Yeah, I need something like an in-game menu for the emulator. I'll think of how to go about it. Btw, it seems the stupid file menu code I use still has a bug that adds a double slash in the file path, but it doesn't affect anything.

If I can just push a little more speed out of the emu, I could run Einhander at good playable speeds. Street Fighter Alpha 3 is getting 15 FPS for me which is up. Wipeout XL is starting to close in at playable speeds.

I'm updating the Sharp Zaurus code...It has a lot of games playable. But I prefer the GP2X's shape and button layout much more, as the Zaurus C1000 uses a right-side thumbpad, and a keyboard, though it can interface with a USB PSX controller.

Now if only someone could get a PSX controller hooked up to the GP2X. :)

Just a little more optimizing...I think I have an idea actually...

wild eyed: in Ridge Racer, is it a horizonal bar at the bottom of the screen? Is the top of the screen also cut off? If so, it's the change I made in honoring the coords of the frame in the framebuffer. Let me know and I'll see if I can fix it. :)

is all this with overclocking? :p

its a horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen, it also appeared in earlier versions but its a lot worse now, it looks like its repeating the top of the screen on the bottom, does that make sense?

emu is shaping up reallly well.

I noticed the same problem with chocobo racing on .033 w/sound (not b, I will try it later). The top ran to the bottom.

i really cant make it do anything :/

i ripped ridgeracer and i have a 345mb RIDGERACER.iso.Z and a 0.99mb RIDGERACER.iso.Z.table. I tried to load the .Z and it brings up the "LOADING GAME WITHOUT HLE EMULATION" message and thats as far as it gets, it just stays like that until i turn it off. I left it like it whilst i made a cuppa tea and no change.

I tried it with a file named exactally "scph1001.bin" that was really 1001 and i also tried renaming my trusted scph7502.bin to scph1001.bin but still the same thing. Tried over clocked to 280 and also left at default settings. EVERY file (gpe, isos, .mcr and bios) are in a folder on the root of my sd called psxtest

What have i missed?

use .bin

Check the first page for a guide to make .bin

okay i got ridgeracer to load as a bin ^^ but its a whole 100megs bigger than the .z T_T

Game was too slow to play but i did a full lap anyway :D completly panned my best psx laptime because with it going so slow you had all the reaction time in the world, didnt mess up a single corner and never let go of the accelerator except to slide xD

the higher i took frameskip the slower the game went (x_X) - @ 280mhz there were about 5 real seconds to a game second w/ no sound and no music. Music didnt play even when it was enabled.

still, good progress, when good old ridgeracer is playable and im able to get my little racing fix on the go i will totally happy :D

Just tried a couple more games, with .z compression (nothing ripped):

Vib Ribbon - the menu works, with music, 8fps, but it stops responding when loading the actual game.

Dancing Stage Euromix - Hangs at the 'loading game without hle emulation' screen.

Does anybody know if .z compression reduces the chance of a game working at all? Might I have more luck with the uncompressed .bin?

The intro movie to Legend Of Dragoon looks fecking sweeeeet on that screen, runs about at 8fps with no sound, 3 with sound and music. 9PFS with sound in game

It's as if the top isn't actually cut of, but rather duplicated. In game, in Azure Dreams, the bottom part would update a bit after the the top, lagging behind. This with sound, as .33 without sound didn't seem to work with it at all.

Terrible pictures, but one can see what's happening.

in game menu, zodttd? how about something like the picture viewer menu, here:

screenshot.png

you just press Y while in the picture viewer and this little menu pops down, perhaps Joystick Press + Shoulder L or something like that could bring a similar menu down which lets you do numerous things like sound on off etc..

i got metal gear solid runnin fine...with sound...it slow downs on a few scenes...neeed to fix that!my next mission is to get FF8 running on it
