The NOAA isn’t releasing its hurricane season outlook until May 24th. Based on the past few years, we could have a hurricane by then.

At least they start regular tropical updates on May 15th, even if they still maintain that June 1st is the start of hurricane season.

Is GNU officially pro-abortion now? Are they calling anti-abortion laws repressive? In my opinion that issue is better left seperated from the isue of free software.

Where did you read that?

In their head.

This becomes more ominous in the light of repressive laws in some US states. If a student in Texas tells the school, “I am taking a puberty blocker” or “I'm so glad mom gave me money to travel to New Mexico for an abortion,” an administrator or a teacher who hears this could sue the parents or try to get the state to take their children away. They may even be legally required to do so.
This seems to imply that anti-abortion laws are repressive.

I did skim that part but it appears it didn't register like that for me, but I might agree.
This might be an individual view though, as the general message of this post is that privacy is important and Meta can infringe on it by providing free software to schools and selling its metadata.

The text: https://www.gnu.org/education/educational-malware-app-along.html
"Leading students to “open up” to teachers about things unrelated to school activities may mean putting them in danger, because parents and school administrators also are allowed to see students' replies, as well as teachers themselves. I agree with the main point about privacy. Too bad I still use WhatsApp with my family. They insist on doing it that way.

I generally appreciate how well RMS keeps his ideologies seperated. That makes me wonder if he wrote this article. I think that he was in favour for allowing abortion, but it seems unlike him to allow that opinion to leak through like that.

This gon be good.

Unfortunately I can't watch them yet because sleep seems to be a thing that totally legit humans like me need.
