The Communication Cube

N.B. I came across this via Interesting Engineering where the source is quoted in brackets as being: “(WIRED)” yet the link directed to a Vice article

Nobody wants to have to deal with OCR errors.
So what other way is there to at least start off with some text. It does the work for me 90%, and then I need to change "lo" back to "d" etc. With better heuristics you can do magic. And many good OCR softwares actually have selectors for the font to interpret.
The alternative would be Speech-to-Text, where someone reads the book and then the machine interprets that voice. This works for more exotic fonts, that the OCR has not been trained for. Or a typist that types over text.
All of these methods require a post-editor/reviewer/proofreader.

Most OCR errors are easily visible for a spellchecker.

wow, I didnt get over 50WPM https://wpmtest.org/ (but I had a 100% accuracy because I went back to fix words, so that's something)
I had 90WPM in my younger years.

about the video:
So well edited. The sound was topnotch. I was on the point of my chair for all the races. Inhumane typing speeds!
I now can not conclude anything about which way to hold your fingers is best.

Yes, and the solution for computers with keyboards is to install linux after their first round of service. Such computers can have multi decade uses when linux is appplied to them, since it's much better at sipping the power so can still do useful stuff just not at the fastest speed. All of my computers I own are preloved, and still do useful stuff.

Was maybe not the best idea to buy the Switch Oled shortly after release: whyle i have now the protection case and the Micro SD Card , I’m still waiting for the Console to arrive..
But at least it’s the last thing to arrive this weekend..

I ditnt played the Gameboy Games I bought on Saturday yet , except of the test for play, but which is also a shame.. , and I noticed I don’t have Boulder Dash on my Pyra Rom Folder, so it’s a. Game I have now only as Cardridge..
i know it’s something I don’t be proud about but some of the Gameboy Games on my Everdrive, or the Emulator aren’t in my Cardridge Collection.. but I use it sometimes to find games I could like to have In Real Live : I Play them on the Emulator, and I buy the Cardridge then ^^

Anyone here had any experience with Lexar Professional Silver Series 1066x (micro)SDXC cards?
I’m trying to ascertain whether they use SLC, pSLC, MLC, TLC, QLC, or something else but so far my searches have drawn a blank. I’m more inclined to think it’s towards pSLC because they have such a good warranty on it but the read and write speeds plus capacity at that price point (and it being a consumer product rather than industrial) probably puts it more in MLC territory?
