Reminds me. I have a device with a transparent case, and messed up the look of it a bit by not being careful enough screwing it back together, and gouging out a new thread path on the plastic. It now looks a bit uneven and opaque there instead of the clear crystal it was before.
this is why we were taught to turn the screw backwards until it dropped into the existing thread . you can feel it . some of our newer techs havent been taught this and i come across so many threaded screw holes, only thing to do is use a bigger screw..lol

've always wondered why there hasn't been chosen for an option where hexagon shaped metal nut bolts/barrels are glued in the case. instead of driving screws directly into the plastic...
I have seen this. Not sure where. But maybe weight? Or the fact that metal/plastic does not glue all too well?

Yeah I know but that method is not failsafe especially since the sizes per screw differ, so next time I wil keep track which screw came from which position. Because I think the problem came from not keep the hole/screw pair the same.
 
Vim is very easy to use after you know the basics.
I use it all the time at work and even on my android its the best editor i found so far (if you remap a few keys in your .vimrc)

Likely either the cost of making automated tooling to handle the job or the time/cost of the manual labor involved to drive those threaded inserts into the plastic by hand.

If you want the proper name, they're called heat set inserts. And Trashy is right, it's mainly due to cost of putting them in. The inserts themselves are dirt cheap, and the process can be fully automated. But, getting the tooling done is something like $10000 per part that needs it, or you can do it by hand, but then you need to pay someone to do it. Above all, the molds would at least have to be partially redone to allow the heat set inserts to be put in.
 
There won't be sidetalk with pyra anyway. It has regular speakers, not tiny call speakers that can be placed directly over ears.
 
Yeah, but the microphone is near the hinge. It having regular speakers is actually a bit of a problem in that there's a danger then of feedback, but I believe pulseaudio claims to be able to eliminate that largely. Just a shame pulseaudio's currently broken on the devboards.
 
Best way to use pyra as a phone would be to have wired or wireless earphones always connected with pyra. Even with my regular phone I prefere to talk using bluetooth earphones so not a big problem for me.
 
Yes, earphones with mic either wired or bluetooth are probably the way to go, to use this as a phone unless you're some kind of masochist. Tensuke must be one of those.

Maybe there should be a handheld dock for the Pyra in the shape of a desktop phone's mic-and-earpiece-handlebar-thingy - what is it called?
