I'm using WinXP on my laptop, WinXP the main Desktop, Mandrake and Fedora Core on the 2nd and 3rd Desktops. I'd switch to Linux on my Laptop if:
I could get my soundcard, ATI Radeon X600 Videocard, and ATI TVWONDER USB 2.0 working properly.
Knew the Linux Alternatives to the Following Programs:
TMPGenc Xpress(Conversion to mpeg)
TMPGenc DVD-Author(Putting mpeg's into a DVD file stucture)
VirtualDub
DVD decrypter(Copying DVD file structure to harddrive removing copy protection and Region Code in the process)
AutoGK(Converting vob to avi)
AviDemuxer(Converting the audio in a video file[usually ac3 to ogg for DVD-rips])
Nero Burning Rom
BitComet(My prefered Bittorrent Client)
Ultimate Paint(MS Paint easy, but much more powerful)
If I could find a distro that didn't require command line to install software.
I really want to get rid of Windows and be free of Microsoft, but at the moment all I can do with linux is OpenOffice and Firefox.
