What are you playing this weekend/these days?

You have to pay extra for backwards compatibility?
No, the game runs but you can have native Switch 2 support as an upgrade. It adds better graphical quality etc.
So, you now have two variants to chose from. You can also buy the native Switch 2 directly, but that one doesn't run on the Switch 1.

Recently finished Kotor 2 (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords) on my phone. I played the first one a long time ago so I remembered the global plot but not all the details and characters. I probably missed a few references but that didn't prevent me from following the story. I've played it with the community content restoration mod since it looked like it was highly recommended by most people.

After a relatively basic introduction, I went to Nar Shaada (one of the locations you visit) and got hooked. It breaks a bit from the usual "town -> dungeon" approach with some fights in the "town" part and there are various cut-scene and events (some of which have you play another character) that change the pacing and make it far more interesting and captivating than the usual quest checklist. On top of that, there were some interesting characters and choices. I was a bit disappointed that the rest of the game wasn't holding up as well. It was decent but it was more mundane.

The fights were really uneven. Most of the time they were very easy and every once in a while I'd get some very difficult ones where I had to cheese and exploit the AI or game mechanics to win.
The overall story is quite intriguing, with lots of mysteries, a mis-matched team where you're not always sure you can trust your allies and some concepts that break the usual "Good Light Side Republic" vs "Evil Dark Side Siths" approach. This is sadly limited by the fact that most of the choices you're facing are actually "Good Light Side" vs "Evil Dark Side" and it feels like the game wants you to pick a side. I still managed not to and to end up as a "Grey Jedi" but it felt like it wasn't fully supported.
The ending might seem a bit abrupt but it really felt to me that the story had been told and there was no need for a lengthy epilogue.
