Just completed Super Mario Brothers Wonder on Switch 2. It definitely give me the sense of wonder I had playing early 2D Mario games, figuring things out and solving the puzzles. It's very well done, cute and clever. But it was far too easy which limited the fun. The exception being the Special levels which were ridiculously difficult but in the wrong way, because the controls aren't responsive enough, even when plugged in via USB. SMBW misses the excitement of rushing through chaos and the relief of making it to the end by the skin of your teeth, which is kinda fundamental to Mario. Mario 3D World is supposed to be more fast action. Maybe I'll play that next.
