Top 20 Games For Each System

I know there's already some similar threads to this, but I hope nobody minds me adding to this one. :p I don't really have a top 20 for each system, though, so it's more like a handful for each (it's also pretty obvious that I mostly like platform games, which obviously kind of influences what I've written. ).

This site: http://www.videogamecritic.net/ is really great for getting reviews of both pre and post NES systems. You can sort the games by grade to get the best ones right away, and the best part is it usually has reviews for a good portion (50% in many cases) of all the games made for a given system. I also love racketboy, but that link was already posted above.

Also, as far as the Atari 2600 goes, Pitfall FTW!
Pitfall and Pitfall II on the 2600 are the only games in the series worth playing in my opinion.

I just dusted up my backup server and found lots of Z80 games! And they all work in spectemu-x11. Crazy memories, please share what games you liked most, mine are:

1. Manic Miner
2. Ant Attack
3. Antiriad
4. The Hobbit
5. Tir-na-nog
6. Horace 1, Horace 2, Horace 3
7. Sabre Wulf
8. Jet Set Willy

Here is a list for the ZX Spectrum, assuming you have no ZX Spectrum previous experience. Many of the best Spectrum games at the time have not aged well, and even at the time it was understood that there were a lot of rubbish games about. Some games are still great but are not easy for the uninitiated to pick up and play. The list below are some that are still very playable and easy to get into.

Batty - better than Arkanoid
Manic Miner - the classic Spectrum platform game, collect the keys
Chuckie Egg - another classic Spectrum platform game, collect the eggs
Bomb Jack - the ZX Spectrum version is the best, I think, with the Gameboy one being a close second)
Atic Atac - search the castle for the 3 parts of the ACG key and escape
Head Over Heals - the finest of the isometric view platform games
Fred - Escape from the pyramid maze type game
Cyclone - rescue the islanders from the Cyclone in your helicopter
Jet Pac - An amazing game for only 16k of memory that was re-released on xbox live last year. Build a spaceship and then collect the fuel to take off to the next planet
Skool Daze - survive school and try to shoot all the shields with your catapault
Split Personalities - picture puzzle game
Uridium - fast space shoot 'em up game
Deflektor - laser beam reflection based puzzle game
Ah, wow. Sorry. First I should use search (of course!) then not post a new topic. I'm sorry. Can a mod merge my other new topic, with this one? http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=44890

I was 7-9 years old when playing this. So I assure you that it was crazy good! I've never seen a mini computer before in my life. And you could play on it!

Pandora is going to be as revolutionary as ZX Spectrum in its own time.

MatchPoint by Psion

A space flight game that I can't remember the name of!

I went out and got one of those really cheesy mechanical joysticks - the ones that attached to the top row of keys and were pressed by the movement of the joystick. Did anyone else have one of those?

It was a superb computer, and has many hundreds of great, addictive, playable games. Try an emulator for it, don't expect fantastic graphics and sound, but just plain good gaming.

I have hundreds of favorite games for the speccy, but my all time top five are:
1. MYTH
2. Super Robin Hood
3. Exolon
4. Wizball
5. Batman the movie

:)
