I felt sorry for you guys so heres a crap video shot on a flip video camera in low light :)

Thanks very much for sharing. My thoughts remain excited about the Pandora, but at least now I know to stay away from Flip video cams :D

I have a Flip Ultra HD and for the Price I think it's nearly impossible to beat it. I honestly love mine. It's small and easy to carry and with proper lighting you can get great footage. I'm not really sure what more you can expect for $150.

There is no video camera in that price range that will have a superbly clear picture in very low light conditions. If you want such things than you need to spend at least €500+ for a HD camera. The Flip HD and the Kodak Zi8 are both very good pocket HD cameras for the price. It takes at least another 3 years to perfect this pocket camera concept, but it's very good already. In clear daylight you can shoot awesome videos and the sound is also very nice. And a pocket video camera beats almost any mobile phone camera out there.

Just do a little search on YouTube so you can see the quality of these cameras in daylight conditions.

Quake II looks awesome! very smooth, what clockspeed is the cpu running at here? standard 500-600mhz or overclocked?
Almost forgot, Thanks for the video Tyke :D

It's really exciting to see videos suddenly popping up :p

Is it only me or is the hinge a bit too loose... :/
I don't know...

@astewardson

Thanks so much for the videos! The picture quality is great, and the commentary really isn't all that bad! :p

I believe it's supposed to be that loose (this is actually what I was talking about in that other thread...). It seems it's loose enough that you should use it in the locked position when in your hands, but tight enough that you can use it in the unlocked position on a table (for watching videos, or perhaps if you hook up an external keyboard & mouse). I just wish it didn't snap to the locked position so easily so that it would be possible to leave the screen angled like the DS...maybe it's not so bad in person?

Also, FWIW, my DS Lite also swings into the locked position if you shake it like he does in the video.

Thank you for sharing your intimate first moments with the Pandora with us, astewardson! Some of the best videos we've had yet.

If you were to play it in an unlocked position and you weren't shaking the thing around will you be fine?

Depends how "enthusiastically" you play. If you mash buttons, then likely you will shake your unit unintentionally. That might make your screen wobble, I don't know because I don't have my Pandora yet.

Boy, if I had a nickle for ever time I've unintentionally shaken my unit from playing over-enthusiastically...

Sounds like a quote for the knob polishing thread.

And from astewardson's video, it looks like if you have the screen tilted up but not locked, it'll stay up by itself if you set it down, and it'll stay up with moderate shaking while holding it. You might cause it to drop if you furiously shake it after losing a life in Contra or something, but it doesn't look too inconvenient to just prop it back up if you must.

Perhaps a tiny blob of PVA glue in the hinge will make it a bit less susceptible to vigerous shaking while not preventing it from closing (also PVA glue should easily peel away if it doesnt do what you want it to. Or try popping a [*I AM NOT STUPID SPAMMER - THIS WAS INSERTED BY A STUPID PIECE OF SHIT CODE*] V1AGRA in the SD slot, that might stiffen things up nicely. Of course you might find it locked in that upright position for many hours, and not be able to close your lid.

I don't think a camel would fit...

No, camel turns into "moron".
