The Rabbit Joint

That said, I won't be getting a pandora either, not because of craig, but because I can't stand that section of the forums. It's just full of blind fanboyism and generally juvenile attitude that I find annoying. And the fact that I use a phone a lot more than I use a separate device, so I'm better off investing in a phone then a secondary device.

The two are often the same these days.

I saw today that he's slamming GPHs newest console. Pretty much because it's a legitimate competetor to his console.
You seem to enjoy ol' Steve Job's products, and we know how much of a nice guy he is! ¬_¬
+1.

So, is anyone actually excited about the Caanoo and wants to defend it? Or is this just about sticking it to craig?
Most of the arguments against it are correct. There's nothing to defend.
Unless they have somthing special up their sleeves GPH have screwed up.

Looks like a great homebrew machine to me - don't give a crap about emulators, though I'm sure it'll be acceptable for those too. If it is decent quality (and by all indications it will be), has got rid of the tearing and screen grain (which it will have), and is minus all the idiots (which it will be, though no doubt they will still come and flame it out of frustration at Pandora)... what's not to like?

We're getting close to some decent stuff with the 3D hardware finally being accessed directly, without the OpenGL library (it has more features than OpenGL supports, so we'll be able to get at these).

I agree with Orkie (which is rare)

The machine looks pretty sweet, especially since I imagine they'll integrate the wifi this time around. The analogue stick is pretty much a requirement with the advances to 3D gaming that we have seen on the Wiz. My favourite emulation machine ever, the Zodiac had an Analogue stick and I loved it, so I am looking forward to trying this out. Hopefully once Peter and I make the proposed changes to openXile, GPH will let me test another one.

It doesn't have WiFi built-in - it uses an adaptor.

Sounds great, moving away from pandora news then? I look forward to it.

Edit: I plan to buy one also, hopefully that'll get me into the scene again and away from OTD shit.

Hmm, it's been a while since ED looked at it. Don't forget they've been known to make changes REALLY close to release date. Hopefully.

Yeah, the Pandora section is going. We might be adding a new feature that we are weighing up the benefits of atm.

Good point. Internal Wifi is a big change though, it would require a bigger case etc. The last-minute change to the Wiz's D-Pad was only because they didn't have to design and make another case.

Edit: I suggest you re-open openXile sooner rather than later. That way you can update it with info on the console before it gets released, and people can use it as an info hub similar to PandoraPress.

Kay, I get it. I hadn't realised Wifi chips were so small :/. That does seem like something GPH could add.
Call me quote please. :)

Really? The only 3D thing I noticed was Quasists 3D engine demo, have there been others and whats under development? Some decent homebrew might push me over to get one, but at this point I doubt it. WiFi wouldn't harm either.

Yes, really. Not released yet (only was working as of yesterday I believe). #wizdev is the place to be if you want the latest gossip :p.

Gosh, last time I visited wizdev, there was noone there. Is it busier now then?

My point is that I can see a rift forming in the community, and it might be time to go our separate ways soon.

Is this what I think it is?

What net was it on again? I'm on ircnet and freenode typically, but #wizdev on both were empty. Anyway, sounds cool that there's something coming up that's using the 3D hardware.
