I think both dads are very protective over their daughters.
You mean they don't want the ladies to mess with negotiations, or that they chose their husbands for them between very trusted men, so trusted that they then use them for other sensitive business too ? Because for Putin it's not directly his daughter's husband...
I was wondering if the US's plan is to collaborate on the things needed for AI, such as creating chips and running AI centers on fossil fuels. And secure shipping routes to force countries to be friendly to the US.
So, Trump might be looking into the future where they are at war with China. The US isn't as powerful as they use to be, so they want Europe to be able to fend for their own. Being friends with Russia would really strengthen the position of the US. Even though Russia isn't really friendly to the US, yet. It feels like Trump is really trying to force Russia in a position of weakness without being the bully. Motivating Russia to be more friendly to them and if they eventually do, the Russians would be happy due to all the restrictions being lifted.
At least, I have hope this is their plan and not just some random actions of incompetence motivated by greed.
"US's plan" is nowadays an overstatement in itself.
Well, I think it's not random, just maybe not too clever, but I think it's mostly greed. They just want to make money and are not "burdened" by ethics, or patriotism or some such. Those are points to keep in mind for lip service.
So they just want to exploit the world, and for Trump to fight Putin, or Xi to fight Trump, or whatever is more cost than just getting out of each other's way and fighting with weaker neighbors.
And they think they understand each other, so they somehow don't want to upset one another. Also because they all have nukes, and they find reasonable to use them if they get upset enough...
I don't think China and Trump will get into war (at least not one against the other, and I don't really imagine them as allies either).
I think Xi will simply refrain from invading the US (at least this decade or the next) and Trump will simply refrain from helping any allies invaded by China.
I mean the OTAN was theoretically a strong alliance, and it turns out it wasn't all so firm as it looks on paper. With more informal (albeit not completely informal) pacts, I don't think anyone may rely on...
At least Russia and Chinese citizens have the consolation that they couldn't vote them, for long... Americans,. well, I guess they're so frustrated about so many things that they may or may not care for a further one...
Did I heard some sport event or something awarded Trump with a peace price out of the blue ? It's kind as if some parish choir in my neighborhood which I never attended awarded me with an economics price or something...
