do it right then: get rid of any graphical desktop environments and use some tiling window manager (i run i3 wm, it's delightful) to condition yourself for maximum efficiency! honestly, being forced to do everything via keyboard input makes you super fast and teaches you which cli programs are behind the usual gui stuff. also: choose a distro that is not a bunch of graphically pleasant nonsense (ubuntu and mint are horrible, well mint is kinda okay). i run crunchbang.I am completely migrating to Linux right now.
