Alaska has oil....

And Ukraine is not an ally. Trump probably still views them as CCCP. They are the second most corrupt European country after Bulgaria. They actually have no cards. Bad luck - yes. But no cards.

Alaska has oil....
Sure. Otherwise why would Putin want it ?
And Ukraine is not an ally. Trump probably still views them as CCCP. They are the second most corrupt European country after Bulgaria. They actually have no cards. Bad luck - yes. But no cards.
May you be projecting your own personality too much ?
If Trump thought Ukraine is very corrupt, I fear, Trump would love Ukraine. It's always easier to deal with corrupt businessmen.
Trump just thinks Zelensky is stubborn. Corrupt or not doesn't matter.
I think Ukraine is corrupt. I don't know how corrupt. But being the most corrupt or second most in Europe is hard. There's so much competition...

On the whole Trump situation there is one thing that is positive: As long he dosnt change the US Law, he is gone in less than 4 Years ..

Or Musk gets President after the 4 Years, then whe have them 2 another a bit less than 12 years ..

As an German Citicen, i did not notice any difference since he got President, my Days are the same, i only read about his strange things..

@matzesu Well, our new chieftain mobilizes a lot of new unfound moneys, because of Trump's unlust to support Ukraine some more. That's not nothing.

Well its something that came from Mr.Burns bought on Wish , it will be depts that our Childs still have to pay back, but after a certain point in my life i did decide i live solitaer, so my Childs dont need to pay ..

My more worst issue is this new Knife Law because the Politicians did not know that Criminals are using Kitchen Knifes and not an Multitool..

I meant EU. I thought it was commonly known.
But Ukraine is not in the EU. Or did I miss something ?
Well yes, I've heard lots of news about corruption in Ukraine and anti-corruption measures and effectivity or not or those measures... And being in the middle of a war and full of all sort of spies pulling strings in all directions must not make it any easier.
I don't know how to look for it but I think I read some news maybe some 15 years go or so that some international expert team went to Spain to analyze how to solve the corruption there, and the conclusion was that if you could remove corruption from the economy, nothing would be left or some such.

US has a massive military presence in South Korea.

Trump is bluffing about pulling out of NATO - like many things. He just wants other members to spend more on defence, which I agree with.
He indeed highlights the problem and forces to get it fixed, which I can appreciate in a way. But it can cause mixed signals which can cause (hopefully unexpected) bigger problems.
Like Kursk getting taken back, while this was the bargaining chip for Ukraine. It could be just bad luck it happened in the few days the US dropped its support, as Russia prepared this for a while, but it could be due to these mixed signals.
