Suggestions for the front page

we could even use an animated gif, it works everywhere. If you don't know how, I can make animated gif (with fading in between) in gimp, let's just make all pictures that we want in the animation.
Please don't. The dithering would be a bad as my avatar.

I suggest using actual screen grabs imposed onto the original image, I can knock up a simple PHP script that will scan a directory for screengrab jpgs and then pass a list of images on to a simple jQuery script that rotate through the images (with fade transition) all u would have to do then is put images in a folder, the script will take care of the rest.

that's a very good idea! Screengrabs look much better than any real image of the display. No scratches, dust particles or reflections.

The openpandora page is done with Joomla, is it possible to integrate such a script easily?

im pretty sure it would be, basically you just add a source to the jquery script in the header of the html which will run upon document load.

the php script will be could be anywhere in the server (as long as the server can process php and as long as the php script is told which dir to scan).

the jquery script calls the php separately so there will be no messing with Joomla.

let me know if thats how we want to proceed ill knock up the scripts.

You're right actually. What if it was like this:

Throw some opinions at me. If we can tune this up I'll make PNG overlays for ED to drop in, save him some time.

I just want to say to you, ED, that you should *NEVER* utter the words "own ones" ever again. Its awful English, please fix!

:)

Other than that, however, it looks really great!

I've cleaned up that and a couple of other things in my overlays. :) I also removed Diablo and added Warcraft.

There's another benefit to putting the text at top left, too. If you're an evil marketing person.

The yellow elements on the page stand out from everything else. This draws the eyes of the reader on a path from top left to bottom right: Text overlay -> penguin feet -> Buy button. It happens to be the natural path eyes will follow anyway - advertisements are built around this principle. For this reason I think the Buy button should be horizontal. It will look more natural, and 'gravity' will take eyes to it anyway.

I agree, that crooked Buy Now just makes me think somethings not right in Georgia, so to speak ..

I think it needs a few more pictures of non-game applications. I would add a picture of maybe chromium showing the Google homepage, to point out that Pandora has Wifi.

The "ARM® Cortex™-A8 600Mhz+ CPU running Linux" text overlaps with "remote administration" in Opera.

Gruso, please don't say "uncrippled", it makes me think of Tiny Tim. While both are indeed small, I still don't think that's the best of conceptual associations.
