Still Waiting For Nubs And Boards?

Didn't the nub company die or something? Or was that the company who programmed them? I'm so lost!

What does this even mean when OpenPandora runs out of nubs?

Sigh. The Pandora is going under my pillow when it arrives, and it never leaves there again!

The original nub company folded (that was a long time ago). They engaged a second nub maker, who have made all the production nubs so far (and should keep making them into the future).

I would not do that if I was you, the "Tooth Fairy", has many sidelines.

I just hope that neither the nub factory, nor craig will run out of money while handling the failed nubs problems. If you support each other a little longer, then you will both become billionaires :)

Well, the nub company has 19 branches, I guess they won't go down that easily ;)
And they handle all the costs except for replacing the already broken ones.

So there shouldn't be a reason to be afraid of us going blank ;)

More and more working nubs are ready, so we "just" need to get the board production company to speed up a bit.
It's a mixture of various things... desoldering the non-working nubs needs quite some time, so that slows things down.
Also, being just a small company with a tiny 4000-boards-order doesn't get you high on their priority list.

Once all those time-consuming things like replacing broken nubs and fixing broken boards have happened, production will most hopefully speed up a lot more.
I know a couple hundred boards are ready and already have nubs on. AFAIK they're on the way to Craig, but I can't say this for sure (haven't asked Craig for a tracking number).

It's funny - the hardest thing in creating a new handheld is NOT the development, but getting companies you pay for doing their job...

Well, Michael is in constant contact with them to ensure they don't stop working on it but will eventually speed up :)

I'll make the happiness dance once the production starts as it should (providing a steady flow of units).
I'll put this on YouTube if you want :D

I hope nobody in the team minds me mentioning this, but I had an update regarding my warranty replacement today. :p I was told that they expect to receive the new boards this week (and that my replacement will come from that bunch). :)

Same with me. I'm waiting for my fixed Pandora from this bunch too. Same problem as you with the nubs. And like you said, fixed most likely. I hope! I've been without it for quite some time. :p

Was going to send my broken nub unit in for repair tomorrow, looks like I'll wait til hearing that the boards with working nubs have arrived.

They have been supposed to speed up for some month now (even far before those nub problem became appearend) and the opposite happened, they even got slower (or just stopped working on the pandora boards for some weeks for no reason). Why do you think they would suddenly speed up now?

Well, they couldn't solder the nubs to the boards unless they got new ones...
And they couldn't desolder the broken ones, until they arrived... right?

Both happened last week.

And before that, 400 boards were ready... but without nubs.
