Just saw this in my garden today ------> Some bird

Anyone any idea what it is ? dont see many of these kind of birds in the garden where i live.

Actually saying that i have seen a huge Heron on my shed a couple of times but that was strange too.

Bloody hell, that's a Peregrine Falcon!

When I lived in Blighty they were rare, and seeing one was really special! I saw a couple on the welsh cliffs near Swansea! Amazing sight, they dive so fast!

But I heard that in the UK they are more common now, and live also in cities! They piss off Pigeon Fanciers, cos they keep eating their prize birds!

Great sight, though. Thanks for the vid!

Sam's source of info!

I wouldn't have said that that was a peregrine falcon. However, it is a falcon thats for sure. I'm lucky enough to have had things like that in my garden. Peregrines, hawks, etc. Had them all in my garden. But not had one eating another bird yet. I've seen them steal one of the chicks from the ensts in my trees and fly off with them.

Got an email back from the rspb and they said ......

Hello John,

I am delighted to tell you this is an adult female sparrowhawk.

i was sure it was a Peregrine too but i guess the rspb would know better than me :p
