I have always been distantly interested in voice recognition but never really felt like it was mature enough to be very usefull.

However, after seeing some online demos of SIRI I must say Im impressed to the point where I must say : Want, Now !.

Seems pretty awesome. Now if they can only solve the last remaining problem I have with voice recognition. ie Not looking like a complete dick while talking aloud into your iphone/computer , then Im totally sold.

Perhaps one day they will have a thought control system which will do searches etc for you based on what you are thinking. When that happens I will buy shares in porn sites as Im sure that will be the number 1 thing on peoples minds. ;)

Mind Recognition(Spoken aloud): I have detected you wish to search for Petite blondes who are willing , would you like me to search now.

Me: Ahh , sorry everyone, looks like my iphone is playing up. Tech issue haha

Mind Recognition(Spoken aloud): Would you like to search for brunettes as you did 5 times yesterday

Me: No No everyone, it really is playing up, I dont search for these things. Please move on, nothing to see here.

thought control similar to this perhaps? http://www.bbc.co.uk...nology-15200386

Quote from the article above "Japanese company Cyberdyne is helping people who cannot walk to regain mobility by dressing them in a full-body robotic suit called Hal" and the robotic suit looks like something out of TRON complete with glowing neon cricles, how many movie references can this company come up with. lol

That's seriously impressive. I'm not an Apple proponent by any standards but that looks and sounds really good.

Also, I just noted this thing has Wolfram Alpha support. Nice.

I was impressed by Androids voice recognition, I was surprised they didn't go further with it.. I've seen similar leaps with PC software, but really what's the point of it on the PC.

But to be honest, no voice recognition system is good in conditions were there is noise or other people talking in the background. I know headsets can improve this a tiny bit, but that takes some of the simplicity of just being able to talk to your device.
