Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Yes, I remember playing it on a P2 266 MHz with a Elsa Erazor 2 graphics card.

I got my Pandora back! Thanks ED!

Now lets see If we can get notaz SDL to work.

Good times ahead. :)

Well it doesn't work with every program out of the box. At least not with scaling and stuff.

I was able to test now and the touchscreen as well, as the keyboard doesn't work. Also it doesn't support nubmouse.

So I started a win95 image and was left without any input possibilities.

I think scancodes are not implemented and it just doesn't really work with the mousinput, that qemu provides.

I'm curious to know how Opera (last version or 10.63) works... I used the 10.60 a year ago for a month, on a Pentium 100Mhz with 16 Mb RAM on win 98se, and it was faster then ie5, but I was using ONLY one tab and disabled speed-dial... (I even blacklisted all facebook addresses cause every site, even this, was taking "2 months™" to load, but without those it was fast)

How do you emulate sound blaster-like sound card and midi on qemu ? Old dos/win9x games needs addresses like IRQ and DMA, but I was thinking that dosbox was the only choice for that

It just occured to me, you could make an awesome little video of the pandora really doing something special - how about showing us the incredible classic 64k MSDOS demo "Paper" from 1996 running? This would really impress me, as well as bring back some incredible memories of the first time I saw this demo on x486 66mhz PC. If your internet connection can handle the download, and if you have the time you can grab it from here:

Go on, amaze us like it's 1996 please.

That is impressive! Thanks a million mcobit. You know, I remember the first time I saw it was without sound as my friends x486 had a soundblaster instead of GUS. We eventually found a little TSR GUS emulator which worked nicely - wonder is it's still out there in cyberspace. Anyway, thanks again for the video, it's really made my day seeing "Paper" running on the pandora.

EDIT: Just googled GUS emulator and found QEMU GUS patches, might be of interest to you:

Redneck Rampage is on the similar engine as blood (Modified Duke Nukem 3D Engine), I would assume it would have the same limitations... if not run worse since I believe it used higher resolution textures than Blood and Duke Nukem 3D.

Crusader: No Regret my be possible..

give a shot for:

Terminator FutureShock

or

Terminator SkyNet

both on 320x240 res..

should be smoother than blood and redneck rampage on qemu..

Terminator almost cuts it on DosBox so it should work great on Qemu :)

Its a shame, both Blood and Redneck Rampage worked on our 486.

how about System Shock ?

For a moment a mistoke you for Creature Shock. That should work quite well a guess, still have the original cd-rom somewhere around...

What about Zork Nemesis, that might also work and was quite entertaining back then. Also have you tried Fifa 96? It was the latest Fifa

iteration featuring sprites rather than 3D-Models and was great fun as far as I remember.

This is really amazing guys, cant wait to get my PTOD fixed so i can play my childhood again.

I'm still holding out hope for System Shock 2 and HL1 *sniff*....... a man can dream.
