Psx Emu

i'm glad you mentioned hoax, remember that one coder about a month or two ago claimed to have a working Amiga emulator and it turned out to be false?

EDIT: for those who don't remember, here is the thread, http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showt...Amiga++Emulator

and was started by Mr.Mirko, who i believe is a respected coder. So everyone now and then likes to stir the pot a bit.

Edit: look at the join dates of Kotd and I, they are so close but the member number is oddly well spaced. I guess that was a SUPER popular time for signups.

Yeah - but there is a big difference.
LDChen posted this at the FPSE board, where nearly no one even knows what a GP32 is (you can see this from the posts there).
So no point of making a Hoax, right?

I'm pretty sure this thing is real. It's a pretty nice tech demo.
And running a PSX that slow (he wrote it took a whole afternoon to make these screenshots) isn't that hard.
There are already a lot of PSX Graphic Software Renderer available, a lot of them with sourcecode, so it's not impossible to port it to the GP32.

WELL, what makes me a twat?
I might be cause a nice menu of twat and tit makes for a nice day, anyways, I am not a coder
I can make a program make the screen say Hello world, but I cant go past thats
so, I didnt understand that this is just the part of the code from the fpse code that needs changed
I was just asking for a release, if posable, READ THE QUOTES YOU ASS , IT SAYS IF POSABLE, THAT I AM CONFUSED
ALL I HAD WAS A FUCKIN QUESTION, IT DIDNT GET ANSWERED SO I ASKED AGAIN
READ MY QUOTE IN THE TEXT U ASSHOLE
I SAID I WANTED AN FXE, HOWS THAT MAKE ME A TWAT?
I DIDNT SAY " THERES NO FXE, HES A FAKE" DID I? QUOTE THAT ONE BITCH

now, dont get me wrong, half of that is ment to be serious, but most of that is meant to poke fun at people cryin
cryin's fine, but ya need a reason, so, dont complain bout me askin a question, complain bout somethin else, like your menu that lacks twat

on to the subject, holy damn, 1.5 megs for a PSX game?
I didnt think it could be that small
I hope eventually this gets released as an fxe , then goes open source
its always nice to have open source, ensures a project can never "die"
well, 'grats to LDChen, some people in here need to just cool off

sorry but just rechecked the file and it's 1.5meg zipped.
4meg for the iso, but still 4meg is really small and it still has the announcers stupid comments.

ok now since this might be the first emulated CD system on the GP32, is it limited the 4mb rom size that the SNES has? And if so, how many playstation games do you really think you can shrink down to that size.

the memory limitations depends on the original system memory (PSX -> System RAM 2MB, Video 1MB, Sound 512K) plus the amount of RAM required by the emulator

since the PSX games aren't roms, the only limit for the isos is the SMC space

there are far enough ripped PSX games under 100MB, but actually the GP32 couldn't handle anyone of them with (really little) enough speed for gaming (without sound, of course)

maybe a simple 2D game or make an emulator for some specific game (as Steve-O said) is possible

bye!

hmmm what would be perfect though i might get slated for this is a psx emu jsut for command and conquer i mean if it had all its movies stripped out is it possible for it 2 run ok ?

UnLucky. Have you tried the homebrewn game GPFinal War? If not, download it and play it. If you like Command and Conquer, you'll love GPFinal War.

Naturally, I have to say GPFinalWar is awesome!!
I know its not perfect, but we tried damn hard to make it good
I hope every person that owns a gp32 has atleast tried it
and, It has sounds and voices and stuff ( I did thoose )
and it has some C&C sprites ( did those too )
trust me, atleast try it

No one probably cares about my opinion. But i did a little research and the emu seems to be legit. So i believe it is. Anyway pretty usedless unless the frames can be put up to a playable speed.

I think this is pretty neat
now if we had a N64 emu that just ran ( wasnt playable ) that would be proboly the greatest achivement because the 64 was heavy on 3d ( more than PSX i think ) and would be cool to see that just working
well, .....cant be a pesimist eh?
