I make a vow right here and now to never publish a commercial game torrent .

And if one ever did it would be immediatly deleted .

The reason I made it was for abandonware that really is on the fence as far a legality . And to precompile games to make them drag and drop instead of making people get viruses on their shit trying to limewire doom wad .
You need moderators.

Well, I like the tracker idea if you really keep it legal, include PDRoms or stuff.

But seeing full versions of Quake, all MAME roms, TG16-roms, etc. makes me wanna cry.

See that is what I never understood . People praise the developers that come out with emulators , but then shun people for downloading roms . I mean everyone one here has some pirated roms . Even if you legally own the game you are still breaking the copyright laws by having a rom that you downloaded elswhere . I highly doubt that anymore than 2 people on this board know how to, or actually do dump their own roms . Mame in particular , To properly dump arcade roms you need some pretty complex hardware and a lot of expertise in that field .

No one is praising Reesy for DrMDx because they can play the hottest new PDrom they do it for games like sonic .

This Handheld would not even be close to successful (in fact it would fail miserably) if it wasn't for apps like Mame and Genesis Emulators . The advertising and selling points for it all revolve around piracy .

Notice the image of mame shows roms that are obviously pirates . (hmmm, n goblns world wonder what that could be )

So many people have said that gbax.com does more for the console than GPH itself so I'm going off what they advertise .

So just like people like to help noobs out with flashing thier firmware I like to help people really enjoy their handheld .

Yes it is piracy I cannot deny that , but you would have to be ignorant to think that this handheld has built this community solely on the backs of freeware games and homebrew . Now don't take that statement as knocking the games and apps that have been developed becasue I love them .

Now EvilDragon here you are shown playing both Sonic and Super Mario World while promoting the console . Are you telling me that you dumped those roms yourself and all the other ones on the list yourself or did you download them ?? Why didn't you just show off some PDroms ??

Case and point , while what I do is promoting piracy I say that the GP2X and everyone behind it does the same thing .

You need moderators.
I meant gp2x commercial releases .

This is something I sort of expected when I saw your site. It's true, while most of the people here are very vocal in their dislike of piracy of new titles, a huge portion of this scene is based on playing old ROMs and abandonware. It sort of creates a catch-22, where a tracker like this is a great resource for members of the community but can't openly be endorsed on this site because of legal concerns. While I hope that many users here will bookmark and contribute to your site, just be aware that it's something that will always be a little "taboo" around here. It's a little fucked up but that's the way it is.

No, I didn't dump them, I know this is technically illegal.
However, if you watch the whole show, you'll see that I had the original game cartridges with me.

I know this is still illegal - but I think owning and downloading is okay, though I even own copy devices for the SNES and Genesis (I'm a collector), it's just more convenient downloading them.

But playing games you have on for real on a cartridge and offering tons of warezed games is something totally different.

Even having pirated games on an SD-Card isn't half as bad as giving them away in large packages for easy download...

How can you agree but take a contradictory action at the same time. You obviouslty dont agree or thats like the judge in a court getting up and stabbing someone in the jury then ruling his own trial not guilty!

You don't have to not realize something is bad to continue doing it. :)
'I realize I'm wrong, but that doesn't mean I will stop doing it.'

No, because he agreed that should not be done. Yet he does it. Thus he is being illogical.

Why are we still discussing it?

whatever people do on other sites is their cup of tea.

"illegal" stuff shouldn't be advertised in here. This is the only offense.

wether or not is is legal or not is not to discuss. It's undoubtly not legal. The question is, how you feel moraly about it. I feel that sharing old, hard to find games online is moraly not too offensive. It's just the hard to find/rare stuff available on the site. Shure, it still isn't legal, yet it is "a crime without victims" in my eyes.

Commercial gamesavailable on torrents, however, would hurt the sales, publishers and developers and are unacceptable.

but, we should stop advertising/talking about that site in here.

Im now wondering if its withing is hosts ToS to facilitate the disributation of pornographic content which is on there.

well, noone here can probably tell you. You either have to

1) ask on the sites forums.

2) talk to the host.

whatever you do, it doesn't affect these board here at all

EDIT: I will no longer respond in this post. kthxbai
