Power/design Gpx2 V.s. Xgp

This is true, many people I talked to said it was cool, and if it was $50
they may snag one, but if it was more they may just stick to playing
GBA on their DS. The hype on a new Nintendo machine alone is enough
to drive sales, how far it will drive them that is yet to be seen. People continue to refer to the two giants in the handheld market as Nintendo & Sony. In reality there is still only one giant, Nintendo.

In comparison Nintendo has swallowed many other contenders but none have even came close to surpassing Gameboy sales.

Sony having sold nearly a million PSP units is a mere pittance in comparison. Though they may be a more qualified contender they are still just that and nothing more.

As for a GBA 2 this is what I was hoping to see,

Yeah I remember seeing pictures of that portable cube right before E3, But something that advanced would have ridiculous power consumption and be more prone to malfunction than ANYthing Sony could build.

The next GB will probably be very formidable and even connect to the Revolution in some wireless way But knowing nintendo it wont be an overly complex or expensive machine.

This is true, the power consumption would be crazy.

And nintendo would never build something like this themselves. If it ever was contemplated then produced it would be out of house like the Panasonic Q.
$$$$$$$$$

The most likely thing nintendo will bring out is a new gameboy but it won't be for three more years. Till then they will milk the DS and GBA for every penny.

I don't think it's too insane to imagine something along the lines of a portable gamecube. The hardware has proven to be cheap and effective, though shrinking it down further and keeping power consumption in mind would certainly add a number of hurdles.

I read somewhere (I think it was EGM's rumour section) that Nintendo was contemplating such a device for a new gba. Personally, I think it's the way to go as developers are already familiar with the dev environment of the gamecube, and if the gba isn't in the same league as the psp graphically, Ninty is gonna have some big problems.

gba micro, on the other hand, is a fucking joke and I am insulted that Nintedo is creating yet another gameboy rehash. I think that, if anything, it will allow sp sales to rise due to the fact that sp's will see a good price hit (maybe as low as $50)

As for the topic- I can't wait to see some real pics of both these handhelds (like of people holding them and such). I really hope Craig gives us good news about the GpX2- it sounds very promising.
