Port Requests

Also like, the pictures of seq2lite ,

I can remember, in the first days of Pandora, there were a lot rummors about this Fanmade Dragonball Beat em Up to come to the Pandora. .

I think, it will work much better on the Pandora Sucessor, and mybe, until then, there is also Singleplayer Content..

But cool to hear you also work on this game

what exactly did you mean by "clearly the best TD game for any platform"?
Haha, cheer up _wb_, Microbes is clearly the best TD game too :)  It's still the only game my son asks for when I offer him the Pandora.

Thinking of that, why don't you port Microbes to iphone and android, and sell it?

You could possibly even get it on steam or the humble store.

I'd buy it.  (I don't use iphone or android, but do use steam.)

I will tidy up the Sean's levels properly if you do that (or, won't be upset if you exclude them)

It's fine to sell an open source game, but if I were you I wouldn't release the source for iphone / Android ports right away (in case someone else sell it cheaper for you).  As the copyright holder you have more options.

While we're pimping our own games, Rescue is clearly the best nude cave rescue game for the Pandora that was released in April 2011.   :p

Selling stuff mean you're ready to do user support which might be a pain in the harse. Many times, the maney you make doesnt cover the time passed on support...

^ This, but mostly I just don't feel like having to learn the boring details of iOS and Android APIs and packaging, and to get dev accounts on their appstores, and deal with tax declarations on my income from that, etc.

If anyone feels like porting Microbes (or NubNub for that matter) to any of those platforms, go ahead, you don't need my permission. If you make a lot of money with it, feel free to donate some percentage of it to the Pandora pre-order fund or to the FSF or to me.

Sorry I found only the german site. It is a java game with a demo avaible.

You have to download this installer: java -jar ednaunpack.jar to unpack it.

Then you can start it with:

java -Xms256M -Xmx512M -jar EbaMain.exe w #Classic Edition / Windowmode

http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Spiele/Edna_bricht_aus

I am just confused with the java pnd and how change paths. It is a funny point and click adventure like monkey island but with a lot of dark humor ;) .

well, it look heavy, but it seems to be just some kind of 360° image viewer with strange transition between the "nodes" to make you think it is actually real 3D... they claim it should run on low spec machine, that's why I put it here. theses kinds of game are quite great with the stylus...
just a little bump:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/agustincordes/asylum-kickstart-the-horror/posts

they describe the engine a little bit more there, I was right, this is all prerendered 3D scene displayed as a simple cube texture...

Hello all,

I've been watching OpenPandora project for a long time.  I may be about to buy one from ED this week (awaiting the delivery of 1GHz models).  I've waited until now because I was getting along just fine with my Nokia N900 but it got replaced by an Android phone (Nexus 4) and I miss having a keyboard based system...

My use case is less about games and more about a small computer.  I use Emacs and org-mode and these should be fine on the system.  However, what seems to be missing is a dropbox-like system for automatic update of files.  I particularly like the open source SparkleShare.  Does anybody have any feel for how difficult it would be to port that system to the Pandora?

Many thanks,

eric

Nope, we have an owncloud client which is an opensource cloud storage system.

IMHO it's better than sparkleshare, you should try it yourself to make your mind.

But since some people must already have integrated sparkleshare in their computer environment, yeah, a client for that system would be useful.

Thanks.  I definitely missed the availability of owncloud.  It's good to know this is available.

I prefer sparkleshare as it doesn't require a web server and uses git for managing the system.  For my use case, and given the limitations of what I can get through firewalls etc., sparkleshare works much better than owncloud for me.

However, knowing that owncloud is there gives me peace of mind so that, even if I cannot get sparkleshare installed on the Pandora, I'll still be able to manage something.

Thanks again,

eric

I would really like to see Streamtuner2 available on the P:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/streamtuner2/

It uses GTK and Python and some other Python/GTK-related stuff. It remains the best stream browser out there and unlike many is not tightly coupled with a player. I would kick in on a bounty for this and Streamripper. An interested dev can assess the project and let me know what would be a fair bounty.

I have tried all of the available repo alternatives. Not even close. If a dev gets excited about this, I will also pay a bounty for porting to OS X and Android.
Bump. I get it that folks are excited about games, but how about some feedback on this one.
I have solved all dependancies (I think so at least), but I still have a segfault. I think there are some hardcoded path left (I fixed a few already).
As has been said before, you da man. I am surprised that more folks didn't pile on as ST2 is IMHO the best at what it does. Ready to donate.

My one (and hopefully only) request is for FLAPP (http://flapp.sourceforge.net).

It's a gamebook player, similar to Seventh Sense but for the Fabled Lands series. Fabled Lands is different from Lone Wolf and other solitaire RPG books in that it is open-ended. You can progress through the series in any order, with each book in the series covering a different kingdom full of adventures and mercantile opportunities.

Should be feasible at first look, since it's a Java-based game.

Hey found a neat game, and figured I'd make a port request. It's a 3d sonic game based on the doom engine and already running on the gcw-zero.

Source: https://bitbucket.org/shin_nil/sonic-robo-blast-2-gcw-zero

was on pandora before on gwc....
from the limited time i've had to test this i'd say it doesnt run on the latest firmware

attachicon.gif
pndrun_srb2.out.txt
Can we have a version that run on new firmware please?

ptitSeb, not wanting to be a pest, just wondering if there is any progress.

Would it be possible to compile the latest version of Flare? There is a pnd on the repo, but that's ver. 0.15 and they are up to 0.19 by now. Sebt3, the original porter, has said he doesn't have the time to maintain it so I was hoping another dev could pick up the torch. In case anyone is unfamiliar Flare is an RPG similar to Diablo.

ptitSeb, could you possibly do the honors when you get some spare time, (if that ever happens)?

Not much progress. I have fixed (I hope) all hardcoded path but it still crash. Maybe it's a screen constraint, I have to try with X-Forwarding on my screen.
