Does someone want to port Me-TV?
It is a TV-Software for DVB-X viewing with some nice features like recording and epg.
Also it is relatively lightwight in comparison to mythtv or xbmc.

Link

Thanks!

You have done a kernel module, and you need help to build a small program without any dependency ?

Sorry, next time I'll put my tongue in my pocket :
Code:
drwxr-xr-x 10 seb seb 4096 11 oct 20:49 cairomm-1.8.4
drwxr-xr-x 9 seb seb 4096 11 oct 21:52 gconfmm2.6-2.28.0
drwxr-xr-x 11 seb seb 4096 11 oct 20:47 glibmm-2.22.2
drwxr-xr-x 13 seb seb 4096 11 oct 20:50 gtkmm-2.18.2
drwxr-xr-x  9 seb seb    4096 11 oct 20:46 libsigc++-2.2.8
drwxr-xr-x 8 seb seb 4096 11 oct 20:49 pangomm-2.26.2
drwxr-xr-x 4 seb seb 4096 11 oct 22:28 me-tv-1.2.6
drwxr-xr-x 8 seb seb 4096 11 oct 20:56 libunique-1.1.6
drwxr-xr-x 10 seb seb 4096 11 oct 22:10 xine-lib-1.1.19
This is C++ but the C++ binding for GTK aren't available on pandora so the first 6 are there to correct this.
Ho and xine-lib depend on ffmpeg, but the headers are missing from the *-dev packages.
But here is your file.

Thanks man,
Tried it myself, but got into dependency hell and gave up at xinelib. The kernel-module was straight forward in comparison to this...

I can't test it, because I had to send my pandora to ED yesterday for lcdcable repair.

But I will try when I have it back.

Great work!

I am just learning to compile stuff and sort out dependencys and all this. Maybe I should setup a complete 8GB SDcard as a dev-environment with a systemimage and all the devstuff, that is in Stuckies extends or in the toolchain. Would this be a better idea, then using the dev-extends?

Edit: Typos

again, thx sebt3! :)

The pnd starts nicely but it doesn't find any dvb devices. I tried 3 differnt dvb-t sticks: one terrratec and 2 noname ones (don't know the chipsets right now). Tried it with and w/o usb hub. The sticks show up with 'lsusb' but I guess there aren't any divers on the Pandi, yet.
Could you please tell me how I can get drivers that would work with the pandora (just in general, as I don't know the chipset right now)? Have you managed to watch tv with any dvb-t stick?

Hi, see this thread for infos about dvb-t drivers. ED will package the drivers I compiled up as a pnd but it will take some time. Until then you can download the modules folder from the end of the tutorial and replace it with the one on your nand. No need to do all the stuff before.

Edit: Also you have to install dvb-apps and dvb-tzap and dvb-scan from the angstrom repositories to scan for channels.

Could you please send me the link to the drivers once again so I could create the installation package?
Wanted to do it yesterday, but couldn't remember where you posted it for me :)

Sure, in your icq.

The link is in the above linked to topic.

OK, was able to test now. I can scan for channels with the build in scan functionality. But I cannot watch tv. It gives two errors. I think about initializing the videostream. But I haven't got an antenna right now. will post more info this evening.

Tried creating the packages, but it's a bit of a mess. You include some modules that are already in our kernel tree, so properly installing them with opkg is not possible.
If I leave the existing ones out, I get a lot of symbol errors.

Also, some sticks need a firmware to work as well :/

So what exactly will this software bring to the table once it's completely finished? Will I be able to plug in a USB antennae or something? Can I get TV through the internet or 3G? I can't find anything on Google about it, and the Pandora is surely to add some changes to the mix.

it is all about watching dvb-t TV. Terestrial digital tv.
It is already working to watch, but with vlc and a tuner-usb-stick. This program could have been a better frontend but it has some issues.

See my link above for more info.

Hi, that is a problem. I think the v4l version I compiled is different from the v4l-version the kernel-modules in the angstrom-repositories are compiled. This means you have to replace all or no modules including the usb-common, dvb-usb etc.... So if there are drivers in the repositories for most cards, no need to package this up. See my guide just as a tutorial to build custom kernelmodules then.

More news ?
I'ld like to know if this is useful or not :)

Right now this isn't useful, because it just doesn't work. I will post some more news later, but don't have my pandora right now.

What a pity... I love the sound of having digital TV on the Pandora, I hope it gets sorted by the time I get mine.

It is possible! Just not with this program. You can use VLC!
