+1..... millionIf it isn't real yet it will be one day which is why I subscribe to the Pandora should run Android camp.
I don't see any reason why that would be fake, but I'm having a little trouble understanding why Sony would make an Android gaming phone, unless they were about to unleash a massive catalogue of games, as quite frankly Android has no good native games, and I can't see Sony deliberately supporting emulation. Maybe it'll have PSP hardware too... One thing's fro sure, it's going to be a chunky mutha.
Sony is a big company, not everything they do is going to be the same sort of commercial release-only gaming platform. This is a phone first and foremost, with the controls being useful for existing phone games (which is a huge market already).. whether or not the platform has games that you consider good doesn't really matter because the platform has games that sell. They don't need to release new games to make it an attractive purchase. There's very little chance of it having PSP hardware.
Sony deliberately supporting emulation is hardly out of the question either, both PSP and PS3 emulate PS1 games. There's a possibility we'll see the same PS1 game availability on this platform.
What work needs to be done to bring Android to the Pandora?
Should these efforts be encouraged under the current Dev Fund?
Or a new, dedicated one? It seems superfluous to the needs of early supporters like us; we will have what we wanted when Ångström is ironed out.
But if we want the Pandora to succeed more widely, Android will make people more comfortable: "Oh, I see. It's like the Ipod for Google Phones." I plan to support Pandora Ångström under either model.
I apologize for bringing this up if it has been talked to death already elsewhere. I haven't been keeping up for the past three months. Also I should confess I've never understood how the Dev Fund is supposed to be administered and disbursed.
